I love coming up with little Imp Things for fanfics because they are (or at least Blitz and Barbie are) behaviorally based on cats. There's a lot of nonverbal body language that can occur with a species that has a wide variety of nonhuman features. You can even see this when Blitz's back spikes raise in surprise at seeing Stolas's human disguise in Seeing Stars:
And of course, later on when he rattles them as a threat display!
Moxxie is another great example of imp nonverbal communication:
This is a long winded and rambling post I made to say that in my fics I headcanon that touching/grabbing an imp's horns without permission is a good way to lose your arm.
