starter based off this for @impcrsonatcr for max aka how the hell did it get so long part two: electric boogaloo
Julie knew she was never getting out of this town, she knew it from a very young age. All she would do was stay out and take over her parent’s company when it was time. All her dreams of getting out disappeared early, and in a way she’d accepted it. That was until him, he had dreams and Julie almost could see herself there too.
That was until the illusion was shattered to little tiny pieces by a simple pregnancy test. She was going to ruin it all, and she wouldn’t let that happen or rather, she was blackmailed by their manager into not letting it happen as well.
Those memories flashed through her mind when she vaguely caught an announcement on tv. The channel was on the local news. “We have exciting news, our own little town is going to be featured in a new documentary! It’s set to start filming any day now, can you believe it, Mike? That we have our own rockstars?” The TV is cut off by a door opening down the hall, her focus completely shifting as a 4-year-old comes running down the hall and barreling into her, laughing all the while. “Oof, Sierra, please!” A soft laugh leaves her lips. There she was, Julie’s pride and joy. Sierra Kostenko. She’d been four in two weeks, as told by the calendar on the fridge and the 3-year-old, who wanted to ensure Julie didn’t forget her party. She didn’t and never had, she was just a little dramatic already.
Since it was the weekend and Sierra had been good that week, Julie figured she’d take her to the diner in town for a very small milkshake as a treat, forgetting about the news broadcast and everything that would come with it.
They were getting ready to leave when Max walked in and Julie felt all the breath leave her. Turning slightly she leaned on the booth knowing it was too late to split. “Hey.” Spoken casually before Sierra poked her head around Julie, peering at him. “Hi!” She said, being the social butterfly that she was. Part of her hoped he wouldn’t realize how much she looked like him, the jet black hair and piercing blue eyes while her facial structure looked more like Julie’s. Casually slipping out of the booth she stepped forward, her eyes widening. “You live in the TV!”
Quickly scooping her up Julie sighed. “How many times have I told you not to talk to strangers?” She asked which caused Sierra to pout at her. Finally, she turned her attention back to Max. “Sorry, she’s a little hyper. Kids will be kids.” She paused, thinking of any reason to leave. “Well, it was nice seeing you, we should be going.” Quickly she moved around him, going to the door before pausing. “You might want to try the orange chicken from the new Chinese place in town, it might be even better than your current favorite here.” With that, she stepped outside.
