Randomly beautiful birds: The Himalayan Monal, holy shit it's unreal, it activates the "ooh shiny!" part of my brain. (in case you wanna look at a pretty bird)
Monals are VERY pretty pheasants! They are also (around here anyway) commonly called “Impeyan” pheasants and sell for a LOT of money all the times I’ve seen them for sale (not, like, thousands, but a few hundred dollars apiece). I’ve looked at them previously, but pheasants are so much more bonkers flighty than peafowl that I haven’t gone in for any yet. They also are pretty fragile as young birds, and pheasants (in general) tend to have problems beating each other up more than peafowl.
But they ARE beautiful to look at.

Maybe someday once I’m settled with the peafowl how I want, I’ll make a nice little pheasant enclosure and get a trio/quad of them ;)
