(( What /IS/ Owl Banding? ))

((It’s a type of Bird Banding, a thing my sister does on a regular basis. She goes down to some woods near the lakeshore, puts up some nets with some other people, waits a while, and sees what gets caught. After that, I wouldn’t know, the nets were empty. I think the birds are taken in, some measurements are done, a tag is put on their leg, and their released back in the wild. It’s usually done in the early morning, but Owl Banding is more of a Night thing. It doesn’t pay, it’s a volunteer science thing!))
