" we don't need anybody. " Yoooo au noxian Isha that grew up with Maddie
// for a second, maddie considers ignoring what isha said like she hadn't said it. doubt isn't something she normally likes creeping into her mind, for as hard as noxian streets were, she wouldn't want them to have been any other way.
if she could go back in time in any way, she doesn't think she would change a thing. noxus' shaped her for the better. sometimes, when she's really down in the slums, she imagines growing up inside of piltover instead, now that she's been here for a few years, but that's a selfish thought that she prefers to bury.
it's been clear to her for a while that isha clung to her more than she does to the emporium, but it's always something that kind of.. confused her. as a child, back in the streets of noxus, it was rare for her to find anyone that wanted her for anything more than what she would offer in exchange for some coin, or food.
of course, isha was closer to her in age, so it makes a little more sense, though for her to stay with her for all these years and never ask for anything in return leaves her baffled, a lot.
glancing around, as if afraid someone might listen in, she finally looks back at isha, biting her lip. " I know what you're- trying to say with that. we're not leaving the emporium for this- place. " the way she refers to piltover is obviously derogatory.
" nor.. nor am I just running off. people depend on us. "
noxus didn't rise because people would run off and desert it. ( like they don't abandon their children often enough. she doesn't think about that hypocrisy. )
Do you think that because of what he went through, Ash would Loathe baseball with all his being? Or anything related to the spor?
yes indeed. in fact, canonically he does:
(from private opinion.)
i def think baseball is a major trigger and remains a topic he really prefers to avoid for his whole life. tbh, i think if he had seen max's present for michael's birthday (the baseball glove), he would have been a very unhappy camper, to say the least. (am i adding another wip to my folder as we speak? well,)
also the way Kyouka reacts to Mori makes me physically ill. I just want her and Yosano and Dazai to murder him. it's what he deserves.

“ I wish I didn’t expect anything from the start “
// big doe eyes watch caitlyn. they do this song and dance nearly every day. she acts like there's anything to be equal about, like if she just treats her with enough kindness, it'll erase the many years she grew up with the most moldable edges.
that, if she just leaves her with enough room to breathe, along the many identity's she's drawn up for herself, she'd find herself, cowering somewhere amongst all of the sex, pain & hurt.
maybe, caitlyn sees something within these eyes. maybe she sees a little girl, who spent her developing years learning how to look as timid and desirable as she could.
her head sways as she struggles to hold it up, due to the light-headedness induced by a lack of food. hands reach out for caitlyn, maybe for stability, maybe for something else.
maybe, if she closes her eyes, feeling caitlyn's touch, she could imagine they were in her bed, and caitlyn was about to touch every part of her body and make it hers. she doesn't, and she isn't, and she never will again.
she doesn't know if they were ever each other's, or if every single part of their relationship is as simulated as it was supposed to be. maddie would not be surprised if it's just another relationship she had out of necessity.
but it's something about caitlyn she doesn't understand. where caitlyn should scorn her for what she's done, she's here, sitting down in front of her, as if maddie might not want to choke her out, if she could.
there is something eerily unfamiliar about the way maddie looks at caitlyn. this isn't the maddie she got to know so well while chasing down jinx. this isn't the maddie she got to know so well when she was dreading ambessa's approach. it's one that's afraid of every movement caitlyn makes. it's one that looks at her with dreadful, sad eyes.
" but, then, would you still be you? " , maddie says, then, out of nowhere. " you're naive. that's what makes you, you. " she laughs, it's in the most empty tone she can muster.
" but you're right. you're expecting something out of someone who's nothing on their own. "
(I have no heart to stop beating.)
