Im honestly not gonna keep scrolling through the hate anymore because it actually hurts.
People online are acting like Aussie engenes “disappointed” the boys and judging the entire crowd off a few random videos. Meanwhile most of us were literally there and know what it was actually like. it was LOUD. People were screaming, doing the chants, trying their best to give them energy. we made the members smile multiple times. it was bittersweet but we tried.
Every friend or person i’ve talked to who was there says the same thing: it was loud. like genuinely loud. by the end of the show people literally had no voices left from screaming so much. I was about to draw blood in my throat from screaming...When the fanchants started everyone around me was screaming as loud as humanly possible and it was so loud. there was honestly no way to scream any louder than that. we gave everything we had.
And another thing people don’t seem to realise: a lot of us were doing heeseung chants too. Multiple times throughout the show. Just because you personally haven’t seen a video of it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. there were thousands of people there and one phone clip cannot capture everything that happened across the entire arena. Not all clips get shared, many of us dont share our videos for whatever reason too.
Something people also need to realise is that videos don’t capture crowds properly. phone microphones mainly pick up the person filming and the people right next to them, while dulling everything else around them. So when you watch a random clip online it can sound quieter than it actually was. thousands of people screaming in a venue just doesn’t translate properly through a tiny phone mic.
and honestly, just because we’re not “breaking the sound barrier” through your phone screen doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. that’s not how crowd noise works on recordings. the energy and volume in an arena full of thousands of people simply cannot be captured accurately through a small phone microphone.
there were also multiple fandoms there. people were still cheering and screaming out of respect and excitement, but sometimes it was just general cheering rather than specific chants because some people might not know them (like how i screamed for treasure even though i don’t know their chants). that kind of mixed crowd noise can blur or drown out chants on video too—but in person it was still incredibly loud.
what a lot of people also don’t understand is the heeseung situation happen THIS EXACT week. A lot of us are insanely hurt and emotional. Us aussie engenes didn’t even get time to process any of it before seeing them. Imagine waiting years for your first chance to see all seven, only for things to happen right before and then still having to show up and be strong for the members (just like they did for us—believe it or not it goes both ways).
Yes, there were some ot6 stans there (ew). Obviously no one supports that. But acting like that represents the entire Aussie fandom is just unfair. Most of us were there because we love them, all 7 of them, and wanted to support them with everything we had.
Australian engenes already have it hard. we’re so far from everything—tours barely come here. So when they finally do, it means everything to us. we have such a strong connection to them too with Jake being Aussie, so finally seeing them meant the world to so many of us.
So maybe instead of judging based on a few livestreams or random clips, listen to the people who were actually there. people who attended are all saying the same thing.
We screamed until we lost our voices. We DID the chants, full OT7 ones. we gave them our energy. And yes, many of us were chanting heeseung’s name too. It may not have been at the same time all together but you could hear it still.
We saw them smile. we saw their reactions. We know what it felt like in that moment.
So calling aussie engenes “disappointing” without knowing what it was actually like just isn’t fair. Please give us a little grace too. We’re hurting as well, and we still showed up.
At the end of the day, this isn’t something the fandom should be divided over. Everyone is trying to do something in their own way because they care. The goal right now shouldn’t be fighting each other—it should be supporting the members and standing together, whilst supporting each other.
Engenes are strongest when we’re united, we have seen that time and time again. So instead of turning on each other, let’s focus on what really matters: supporting the boys and fighting for the day we can see all our precious seven together again.
