New Year (The night from December 31 to January 1)

Is celebrated at night by the entire settlement in the Village Hall. There is a feast with dancing and songs dedicated to the new year, new hopes and goals.

It is customary to give gifts to friends and loved ones after midnight.

Heart Day/Valentine's Day (February 14th)

A celebration dedicated to love and family. It's celebrated with a lover or with a family.

Last Winter Day (the last day of winter)

A clean-up day is held in the afternoon, the fields are being prepared for sowing. After work, a wooden structure symbolizing the sun is erected in the field and set on fire. While it's burning, villagers dance around, singing a traditional song dedicated to spring and life.

The celebration continues in the evening. A feast with lots of food is arranged. The songs are dedicated to nature, spring, life and the sun.

Ladies' day (March 8th)

A celebration dedicated to women. On this day, all responsibilities are placed on the shoulders of the men of the settlement.

Joker's Day (April 1st)

A celebration of fun and jokes. It is customary to make fun of the others.

Labor Day (May 1st)

A holiday dedicated to labor.

Children's Day (June 1st)

A holiday dedicated to children.

Day of Mourning (June 28th)

A day dedicated to the memory of the tragedy on June 28. On this day, the memory of the victims is honored.

Family Day (July 15th)

A celebration dedicated to the family. It is customary to spend this day with the family.

Memorial Day (July 31st)

A day dedicated to the memory of the dead. On this day, families gather at tables to honor the memory of their deceased relatives and friends.

The Night of the Blood Moon (October 31st)

The night when the blood moon rises and the line between the world of the living and the world of the dead becomes thinner.

piano routine

ﾟ☾ ﾟ｡I've done some online exercises for bass clef identification until I got completely exhausted from today. so it wasn't more than 7 minutes.

other things I did today

while mom and grandma went to funeral services to get everything prepared, I got sent to kindergarten (my ex gf's house). the entertainment for kids (=me) was great... a lot of cats to play with and some of the cats really wanted my attention, so my black clothes were all in fur. I told A. about all of these crazy events and family relations, then shared pomana with her. I showed her dollmakers from 2007, then I helped her hang out the laundry. I watered all of the plants on the second floor and helped her with other minor things. she couldn't come up with what to do for me and I really wanted to help. then we took some dumb uquiz quizzes.

A. gave us a ride to the funeral services, and mom told me to wait with A. in the car, because they were supposed to wait. I was so relieved, because I remember how cold it was to wait outside before the funeral of grandpa's brother... me and A. talked and played with some makers on picrew.

then A. gave some of us a ride to the cemetery. while wives of my grandpa's brothers were saying to her to go and that they'll take a bus, I whispered to her to stay. I'm so glad I did it, turned out to be really important.

I got called to look at my grandpa and hold a candle. he was a bit scary. I thought I wouldn't be able to cry, but I did. in fact, I was the only one crying. there were only five people. everyone understands that grandpa's life was nothing but suffering at this point, so for him, it's a relief. but I remembered some things that we did a long time ago... that we wouldn't be able to do anymore even if he was alive. also, our neighbour kept walking with a candle and muttering prayers but it felt kinda weird, we specifically didn't order a priest since grandpa was an atheist, and she was into dark magic of some sort. idk, I don't trust her.

there was a lot of mud on the cemetery, we forgot that we could wear plastic bags... I got annoyed at the neighbour again, because I was trying to put a wreath and she tried to 'help' me. I told her off rudely that I'll do it myself, and she was like okay okay! right, it says from daughter and granddaughter here, it's me who's putting it, or mom. I'm worried I offended her, we told grandma to tell her sorry if me or mom were rude to her this day, I was sad, and mom was in such a hurry...

the grandpa's grave position in the cemetery is so lucky, it's right near his brother with two graves between them.

then we had kutya and some wine, I just had water. some other rituals that I'm tired of writing down.

we had trouble cleaning our shoes from all of this mud before going to A.'s car... we gave her 500 uah for petrol as a thanks, even though I couldn't thank her enough. she was waiting for us all this time. when wives of grandpa's brothers found out, they started complaining "poor girl" and etc. like I'm tormenting her, but she was the one who suggested it (even before I asked) and she didn't want to leave by the unknown road all by herself... I see no point in feeling sorry when you can just be thankful for what she has done for us.

and that's a good thing I asked her! because by being done so early, we had a chance to leave to the city today and not to wait for the new year's eve. all thanks to A.! well, and people who agreed to hold a funeral today. me and mom left on the bus to the city. some soldier who was there helped me get up on the bus, offering his hand. then I was looking at my phone and he gave me... a bottle with coca cola? "don't worry, it's sealed". I said thanks because I was so confused, mom told him "but you probably need it more?" (and she's right, I don't like drinks like these), but he just gave it to me?? we thought well, he's just very nice. but he was very talkative during the trip... and kept asking why is no one talking (it was evening, everyone's tired and wants home). we thought he was drunk. but then mom overheard the driver saying that he's finding it weird that this soldier is so talkative, they usually keep to themselves. I was worried, what if it's a spy? but he got checked and everything seemed ok. but there were some other weird things about him... I won't write too much.

on the tram, I saw a woman who reminded me of some woman whom I respect. that's all I can tell, like I can't even remember who is the woman that I respect, not by appearance, not by anything. all I know is that it's a down-to-earth woman in her forties who doesn't take anyone's bullshit and that she has these highlighted side-swept bangs. who is this?? I can't remember!
