Gathering up craft stuff to take with me to the library is like... “Ah! I forgot about this! Forgot about this, too. Oh that’s where that went.” I’m getting distracted, so I ended up throwing in a bunch of stuff. I know I ought to take out more, like most of the yarn I’ve been using. After I finish this snowflake ornament pumpkin, it’s embroidery time.
Bonus: While chatting with someone from the library via email, I sent her photos of my past work. I love looking at my old biscornu pin cushions, especially. Like, how is this not wonderful? Piles of little pin cushions!
Trying to gather stuff to make for the craft fair, or at least plush patterns to try. I am aiming for knits, as crochet hurts my hands a bit more; seems like most of 'em are crochet, though.
Anything I've already tried, I'll mark in bold. And these are just links to @agalmacoppelia posts, so you gotta click through to get to the patterns themselves.
Of the projects in this image, I'm only willing to make another bikini cat, aka Cat Days of Summer by Gabrielle Ryan
I can't upload the individual pic of that cat, so you get a group shot.

==========
There were def more in the archive. Some of the owls looked derpy. Others looked too complex for the task. There were some stitch motifs and patterns that would make for nice (non-hooded) cowls or scarves. Didn't mark those, though.
I've already talked plenty about the scarf and cowl. They're such good patterns, and I really love wearing the cowl.
Regarding the crocheted lemon purse, I want to adapt that motif to make coasters. If I get ~fancy~, I'd make a little coin purse out of 'em, complete with zipper. There's a watermelon slice version, btw. Could probably poke a hole with scissors, rather than using that specialized too.
I have already made (or partially made) multiple cat-toy mice. It's such a great pattern; very small and quick. Bikini cat is another fav, though I haven't made new ones yet. No buttons on those, though. Just embroidered faces.
As for the other bolded patterns, I am only willing to subject myself to the mini lobsters. Solely because I'm in Maine, and lobsters are A Thing (TM). The snails weren't that much fun, but neither were the lobsters. Grumpasaurus is cute, but I still haven't finished sewing mine together, and he's been "done" for years. (Might need to knit the tail still, but the limbs are done.)
I also have this long-legged cat thing I've made. Here's how he looked while still in-progress, in 2014. He needs a face, still.
Guess who’s a fool for not checking her camera before going to the library! Yep, it’s me! Apparently, I left the telephoto lens on the camera, and I didn’t bring the regular one with me.
Large biscornu: Oberon (14 count aida) from Rainburst Embroidery
squares-and-hexagons square: riff on McDuff’s Sampler by Rainburst Embroidery, 18 count aida (cream)
widdle black biscornu: improvised pattern, 18 count aida
tiniest biscornu, pink and green: 14 count aida
blue squares and circles in hoop: improvised pattern, 14 count aida
Is it possible to photograph miniatures with a telephoto lens? Yes, but it ain’t fun. I had to stand like 4 feet away, and my hands are always unsteady. I also couldn’t get a downward angle, because of the distance requirement.
The sea serpent is finished, and now the text is finished. Just gotta sew the two pieces together. (After I remove the guide-threads, of course.)
Since @hellodollstuff’s Tonner dolls are named with monster and mythology names, I thought the sea serpent design was fitting. I always imagined this like a bolster pillow, sitting on her dolls’ couch or across a bed.
... because I wanted an image to go along with today’s knitting notes. (Earlier notes)
I finished the sweater just now, and it looks great (aside from the loose neckline). But I remembered I used US-1 (2.25mm), when the pattern called for US-0 (2mm). It’s not much of a difference, yet still a difference I’d like to confirm. (It’s not often that I want to pay attention to scale and gauge, when it comes to knitting.)
I think I’ll make a quick hat first, and then I’ll start the US-0 version a bit later tonight.
He’s got matching fingerless gloves this time! I got a few replies from my previous post saying that he’s noted for his knitwear, that the sweaters were made by his fans. Thanks to @sandraugiga and @alchemistdoctor for the feedback!
Someone in the yt comments said this episode aired in 2001, so I decided to check wiki. Alas, Aston passed away in 2013. I’m late to the news and to this show, as I’m American. While I never liked the 3-day time limit format on tv shows, I would’ve loved to have seen this show when it originally aired. Hell, if I still had cable, I’d watch it. I mean, that’s exactly what I’m doing now... just on youtube.
[Yesterday’s brief knitting notes]
Kestrel (WOz Miss Gulch) is wearing the “square neckline dress” that I’ve been working on lately. She has the regular Tyler body, for which the pattern was designed. I have done 6 rows of the hip increase section so far. I’ll finish this test copy when it reaches past the white t-shirt.
Here, you can see how oddly curled the neckline ribbing became. Maybe I didn’t use the right-sized needles? I’m not fond of it anyway (even on the sleeve cuffs), so I’ll skip it on the next test copy.
Thanks again to @sycamore for the handmade stitch markers. It took me awhile to realize that the beads and floss match the bows on each kitty’s neck, in the images. I love your eye for detail, my friend.
Another post with Chickadee modeling this same sweater will come later tonight.
