From a couple of days ago. (Second week of January.)
An illustration of why I still struggle to figure out the best time to prune rose bushes back, BTW. They never go completely dormant.
Essentially living in a wet refrigerator will get you looking a little mangy, but every once in a while you can still throw out a bloom!
I was pretty impressed the first time I visited the area, in December, and spotted a nearly bald rose bush sporting a single bloom which looked fake from a distance. But yeah, this does seem to be a normal state of affairs in this weird climate.
Bonus geranium!
That's not what the blooms usually look like, but it's trying! 🥶
(Also living in a sheltered spot near the house. None of the ones more out in the open have been trying to flower.)
