88 days until race day? All up to this point no rumors or information about the race had come up. Well things have changed. We knew that this was a possibility. Although no official notice has been sent, hence the ?, a group that I follow posted a letter from the planning and recreation department of California. My attempt at completing Ironman Santa Rosa might have to wait. At least for now, I’m continuing with my training until the official notice comes. I’m feeling confident that we will come out of this stronger. 96 days until race day: I’m finding it challenging to get these circuit training done. They are not my favorite thing to do but a necessary evil at this point. I’ll have to look for some new routines for the upcoming weeks. 99 days until race day: It’s Friday and I’m feeling relief. I made it through a roller coaster in terms of my recovery. Today’s indoor bike session felt great but I will have to wait until tomorrow to see how things feel. 104 days until race day: the 10 minutes rule came in handy today. I learned a while back that I can invest 10 minutes of my time towards the beginning of a workout. If I’m feeling bad after the first 10 minutes, then I’m stopping, otherwise, I’m going for it. I’m glad that I went for it and finished the indoor bike session. 105 days until race day: the beard is gone and I shaved minutes of my pace. Just kidding! It didn’t help at all. I did enjoy today’s workout. My legs are a little mashed from yesterday’s bike session but there was no pain or soreness. 107 days until race day: I enjoy running with a little bit of rain. Today’s run was cloudy, windy, rainy and a lot of fun. I also did another round of resistance band training. I still don’t trust them. 108 days until race day: a not so flattering picture of me after going hard on the bike. I’m rocking the crazy squirrel look aka un groomed beard. Anyway, I’m feeling really good. I had tons of energy throughout the day, a welcome site after two ruff days in a row. I think that going to bed early yesterday really did the trick for me. It was a big bike training session with multiple intervals of 5 minutes close to race pace followed by 5 minutes at above race pace effort.
