“ Pardon me, did you drop this? ”
COMMON DAY SENTENCE STARTERS. ⤷ status : accepting !
Lately the weather had been far too fickle for anyone to keep up with. Regardless of how one dresses, at one point in the day, there will be the regret of not piling on the layers or having way too many on — Somin tended to fall into the latter category, rather than the former. Morning had begun with a gloomy overcast of rain clouds — the threat of rain had left her with no choice but to don a raincoat ( light enough so that when the weather improves it doesn’t become a burden ) and a thick scarf.
Somewhere along the line, as expected, the weather improved. Though the light material of a raincoat was bearable, the wool scarf leaves her cheeks flushed; it’s far too warm to be accessorised as such. Tugging it off and shoving it into her handbag ( at least, partially, for it’s jam-packed with not enough space to contain even half of it ). spring may be her favourite season, but the transition period just beforehand was absolutely bothersome — thwarting every plan, situation and outfit with the constant shifting in climates.
No headphones today, thank goodness for that. Otherwise, would she have heard a voice, words obviously addressed towards her ( no one else seems to be around ). Turning, curious little expression splayed upon her face — brows furrowed and the bridge of her nose crinkled — she sees her scarf. How had she not noticed it dropping? How foolish! A little sigh of relief and her features softening, there’s a hint of elation in her words.“Oh, gosh, yes! Thank you so much.“ Her eyes, crinkling into crescents, finally gaze upon her saviour’s face.
Somin, caught up in her gratitude, dips her head in quick bows of gratefulness while repeating ‘thank you’ for a good two minutes. Had he not returned her scarf, she was sure she’d feel the loss of it later on.
