you used to have a used postcard collection? can we see?? where do you get them???
i still do! my use of "old used postcard collection" was bad word choice on my part. by old i meant the postcards are old. as in, primarily from the first several decades of the 1900s.
the best places to get them are antique/thrift stores. they usually have some spot with lots of old postcards. unfortunately, antique/thrift stores are usually pretty pricey. something like $3-5 for one postcard which is a lot in my opinion (espec b/c i usually find A Lot that i want (though i holdback b/c 1. as mentioned, the price and 2. i don't want to be too greedy and buy them all (not that i would or could, but, you know)). and it's almost always a combo of old ones that were never used and used/sent ones. i like the used ones because it's the old postcards along with the written messages that i love. that secret, fond message written to someone decades ago.
you can also find them online. i've bought bundles of used postcards from etsy sellers that have been really great and a reasonable price. the one i previously bought from and loved doesn't seem to have any listings anymore which is unfortunate b/c their collections were my fav. but you can find others there, too, that are probably of similar quality.
you can also sometimes find old postcards in old stuff. like inside old books at a bookstore or antique shop. or in your grandparents' chest of belongings or family history collection. these finds always feel more exciting and meaningful because it's like serendipitous treasure.
there's probably a way to find/buy them in bulk that isn't through a store like etsy or thrift shops. like, there must be a way those two places (etsy sellers and thrift shops) get their hands on so many, but i haven't looked into it (though i have been meaning to).
here's some pictures of some of my postcards (under a cut b/c this post is already long):
