OH! Yes yes! You will indeed get a trick! OwO 🎃

This is a drabble/WIP that I came up with based on a concept I've had for a while now, which is the time early on in the story when Callonduin's dad first confronts him on his behaviors (and all the times he lied about it) :3

“They tell me of your alarming behavior, that you behave recklessly when fighting Orcs, that you disappear for several days at a time, then come home smelling of blood and ale.

What’s more, you’ve taken your leave without uttering a single word to your superiors! And it seems to me like you don’t have any intention of returning this time. Yet, you’ve been writing to me as if all was well.”

The ambassador paused his tirade to take a shaky, frustrated, breath.

“Why couldn’t you just stay in Imladris?”

Truthfully, Callonduin didn’t expect to get caught so soon, though since it was far from his first time, he had his usual tactics ready. With a grin, he scoffed and shrugged, brushed off his father’s worries, told him it was no big deal and he was just trying to have some fun. Not once did he address the stated deception or penchant for danger. 

No, he’d rather scare off his skittish father with his antics than tell him that for some reason, staying in the Valley made him want to scream. 

His father only heaved a weary sigh and said, “I wish I understood you, Callonduin.” Callonduin found he had nothing ready for that.

aw this is so sweet 🥺 it’s been A Time since I’ve answered an ask. Ummmm four things I’m excited about? I guess I’ll just answer as in “things on the horizon” rather than “things I’m always excited about”. They’d be: cooler weather around the corner (I HOPE), a stack of ARC books to read as well as two library books, writing plans I have that are at least semi-plotted out, and the string of holidays that crop up around the latter portion of the year :3.

aaaaaah it’s 7pm a nap is not gonna happen but thank u lovelies <3 i just gotta power thru... i stayed home coz the thought of going there on valentines got me even more down, at least here i have endless tea
