Leaving Garreg Mach, and sub-sequentially the Knights of Seiros, had always been an option in her life for years. Though one she hadn't taken, due to the debt she had owed Rhea. But a debt owed can only be taken so far, and the time finally came when Shamir no longer felt indebted to the Archbishop.

Shamir had never had anything tying her to Fodlan, or the Church itself for that matter. Nothing to hold her back from slipping out unnoticed in the dead of night, and riding off into the distance. There was nothing in the monastery to keep her around, not even the memories she was leaving behind. But that suited her just fine— after all, being on her own came naturally, just a perk of being a mercenary her whole life.

It was a life she fell back into with ease. Spending the next few years wandering through war-torn Fodlan, taking whatever jobs filled her pockets with ample coin. Life was good, but it was vaguely reminiscent of a time long since passed. There was a part of her that couldn't shake this strange feeling, as if something was missing in this life she led. Shamir couldn't place it though, and found it mildly irritating.Still, it became a constant nuisance through the days. Something she found herself wondering about more frequently than not, and on this day it would seem fate had decided it wasn’t quite done with her yet.

So lost in her innermost thoughts was she, that it failed to register that someone, or something, had just gotten in her horse's way. Reins snapped in her hands when the equine's head jerked suddenly, going into a brief panic before falling calm under a few quick, but gentle neck pats from it's master.

Only then did she glance towards the figure in front of her now, ready to chastise them for being so foolish. ...But the words never came. Instead, she found herself staring at an apparition of the past; a woman who had still been missing, the last she'd heard anyway.

“ ——Professor?”

Old habits were hard to shake, weren't they? It had slipped out with almost no thought, as she simply stared, somewhat in shock, but more so in confusion than anything. “I wasn’t expecting to see you here, of all places..” Falling silent for a moment, violet hues regarded the other woman with a hint of curiosity while giving her a once over glance. “So, I take it this.. is where you’ve been hiding out this whole time?”

WAIT OKAHY I’m sorry I was misinformed! I was sent a meme by a friend and I didn’t read the comments thinking that it meant that Hui had already silently enlisted, cube still hasn’t released any statement abt it since it was pushed back because of the entire quarantine situation. My apologies!
