Tessa was sitting alone in the park, glasses sitting low in position on the bridge of her nose. She looked down at her book about space, something she needed to write a paper for her english class. The college reading text, as most often be, was a bit tedious. She was unaware that she was in the presence of someone.
"Can I help you?"
Vanishing Point
Sherlock reviewed Lestrade’s description of the missing individuals as he entered the cemetery. The victims had gone into them and vanished without a trace. No tire tracks, no footprints, no estranged lovers, no blood. No traces of them were left behind. There appeared to be no pattern besides they all disappeared in that one cemetary.
At the moment, he suspected a combination of drugs and human trafficking to be responsible for the disappearances. The lack of evidence was easily explained by an inept technician and crime scene contamination. He was here to look at the sight of the disappearances firsthand.
Sherlock bent over to examine a grave. Scuff marks. Size four shoes, relatively recent struggle of some kind. But what? He turned around, glaring at the graves. The scuff marks were isolated, which didn’t make sense. A struggle would have traveled. Where? How? He scowled. He tensed, hearing footsteps behind him, and turned around, expecting one of Lestrade's minions coming to check in on his progress. (Damn the man. Sherlock worked better alone, didn't he understand that?)

well, knowing is better than not knowing, at least!

Not sure whether to say congratulations or I'm sorry, but at least you've got a solid diagnosis!
That's about what I'm thinking. It's been two years of suffering, and now I finally know why.

*hugs*. Is the treatment for RA and Fibro really similar to one another?
Unfortunately, no... while they're both chronic pain conditions, the pain from arthritis is caused by physical inflammation, which can also permanently damage the joints (as you well know). Fibromyalgia, however, has no visible/testable physical symptoms, which on the one hand, means we don't have to worry about even more damage to my joints; on the other hand, they don't really know what is causing the pain, beyond that it may have something to do with nerves misfiring and/or pain sensors being messed up.
So, yeah, the two "fibro drugs" I'm on right now are actually an anticonvulsant and an antidepressant, and both basically say, "We have no idea why these drugs work on fibro, but they do (for some people), so try it." Apparently the anti-inflammatories one would take for arthritis (like my Celebrex) don't really do anything for fibro at all... because there's no inflammation.
(Interestingly, the rheumatologist isn't really convinced that I still have arthritis, because all my current signs point to fibro, and people with juvenile RA tend to grow out of it by my age. And she doesn't want to throw more RA meds at me on top of the fibro ones. But she had me get labwork and x-rays done today to check on that... and I really think I do still have it, because hey, the Celebrex does something, even if it doesn't totally remove the pain.)

*hugs until your ribs crush and reform into a shield of diamond to protect you from more diagnoses* We'll be here for you as much as we can be!
... that shield sounds amazing. And thank you... I think I was prepared for this, because I've been thinking it for a while, and my GP and psychiatrist agreed, but... maybe it just hasn't hit me yet. I was still kinda hoping for a diagnosis of something that's actually treatable, if not curable...
[too lazy to sign out again, but...did you reply to the RP thread and I missed it? Sorry, not trying to be a slave driver or anything, but I'm trying to reply to some other people I'm RPing with and my tag isn't working for some reason and just tumblr is being dumb.]
(I'm publishing this because it looks like you're back on your main and I dunno when you'd see the response otherwise)
I have not. I intend to today, though... given that I keep saying that, then being too busy to do so. But I honestly need to rest today, I've been doing so much that I'm gonna end up killing myself. ><
I don't mean to intrude, but you look very much like a friend of mine. I don't suppose you know her, then, do you? Her name is Rose....
"Rose?" She blinked, shaking her head. "No, sorry. Beautiful name, though. Lose her?"
It's really sad that this is the only 11th Doctor-related url I could think of that wasn't already taken....
NO WAY
