Whether love or passion? What would be your answer to this simple question?
Passion is a thing which makes you feel alive and makes you realise that this is the thing I want to do my entire life whereas love is a strong feeling which makes you feel better with a person whom you want to spend your entire life with, But what if your path reaches to a point with they both intersect and unfortunately you lose something most precious to your heart and get shattered. Here I'm talking about the 2011 movie Rockstar directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Rockstar here deals with both these aspects of life. A simple, stupid, Delhi boy belonging to a middle class family, studying in the usual engineering college, plays guitar , wants to look cool and is very passionate to become a singer. But neither his cool'ness' nor his singing talent is appreciated. Janardhan (Ranbir Kapoor), a 5.9 feet boy with tight blue jeans and shirt with sweater and his most fluent accent of English goes to propose 'Heer' (Nargis Fakhri) the most beautiful and classy girl of the college because of an advice given by his wise friend Khatana Bhai (Kumud Mishra) that, "Toote hue dil se hi sur nikalta h!".
Clearly depicting the traits of eccentric he acts like his heart has been broken, without any knowledge of being in love, or if love fades aways, its anger, its pain its hollowness, as he was rejected by Heer. The character of Ranbir kapoor is clearly brought in picture within 20mins of the movie being a clearly senseless and stupid yet some traits of trivial Delhi boy. and what happens later in this movie is a great writing and musical experience.
The character done by Ranbir Kapoor is so intriguing which makes you completely fall for the journey between Janardhan aka Jordan and Heer. The chemistry shown between the two characters is done so amazingly by the writers Imtiaz Ali and Muazzam Beg as they limelighted every aspect of this Janardhan becoming Jordan to Jordan meeting Heer and later what demise Jordan faces. The Cinematography done by Anil Mehta is such a visual treat which makes this film completely compatible with the storyline point of view. The music composed by A.R Rahman and penned by Irshad Kamil experess many ways of a character in this film. As Jordan moves ahead in his life every particular song describes what he is feeling and what he is trying to find. The songs sung by Mohit Chauhan are completely astounding and soothing which makes Jordan's character more powerful along with the writing part. Every cast member of this film has gave his best performance even Piyush Mishra's character is designed as an ugly and rude boss whereas Aditi Rao Hydari shown as a fierce and subjective one. The film recieved an amazing response from the viewers as well as critics which made them bagged Filmfare Awards along with People's Choice Awards.

Don't live like a robot who don't have feelings or don't know the importance of happiness, who follows each rules and regulations. Become an animal who lives life in their own style. Be writer of your life, not an audience to just watch what's happening in life. The movie is fully focuses on importance of dreams/passion and what happens if you are forced to do that you don't want. Movie is motivational as well as inspirational. What a powerful acting done by Ranbir Kapoor, seriously it leaves you speechless. And I have no words for Imtiaz Ali's great direction, it's just a great work.

Stop Waiting for Superstars: Side Heroes is the 2026 Movie We Need
We’ve all been there: watching a big Bollywood blockbuster where the "hero" is basically a cardboard cutout, while his best friend is the one actually making us laugh and feel something. It’s frustrating when the most relatable person on screen is treated like an afterthought. If you’re tired of the same old "superstar" formula, you’re not alone.
I’ve spent way too much time watching actors like Abhishek Banerjee and Varun Sharma carry entire scenes on their backs while the lead actor gets all the slow-motion shots. It feels like the industry is finally waking up to the fact that we care more about the "sidekick" than the guy on the poster.
The upcoming film Side Heroes is basically a middle finger to that old-school trope. Here is why this project is actually worth your time:
The Casting is a Masterstroke: Bringing together Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Varun Sharma is like assembling the Avengers of comedic timing. These guys have redefined what it means to be a supporting actor.
The Friendship Day Hook: The side Hero movie release is officially set for July 31, 2026. It’s timed perfectly for the Friendship Day weekend, which makes total sense for a story about platonic bonds.
A Different Side of Imtiaz Ali: We usually expect Ali to give us deep, soul-searching romance. Seeing him present a quirky, meta-comedy about the "best friend" archetype is a wild but welcome pivot.
The "Meta" Narrative: This isn't just a slapstick comedy. It’s a tribute to the people who are always the "safety net" but never the main protagonist.
I’ve noticed that audiences are moving away from the untouchable "hero" and gravitating toward characters that actually look and talk like us. Letting these three lead a film together feels like a massive win for anyone who values actual performance over star power.
If you want a deeper look at the production timeline and more behind-the-scenes updates from the set, I've compiled everything we know so far. You can read the full breakdown here: The side Hero movie release date: A Hilarious Tribute to the Ultimate Supporting Friends

Love aaj kal Film 2020 Review
Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in Love aaj Kal 2020 Film Plot: The story of a boy and a girl who meet by chance in a club is the plot of this film. The boy disagrees with their attempts to be physical. The boy then follows the girl until they arrive at the café where she works. At the same time, the café owner's story continues. What takes place in the two stories? Will there be a happy ending to both stories? Will it be possible for the two couples to meet? Would they not cross paths at the end of either story? You must see the film in order to understand all of this. The film's tone and theme are romantic comedy and love and relationships, respectively. This movie was made to demonstrate how to find love and how today's youth think, including what they desire from a partner. Can they make sacrifices for one another and compromise in various ways to keep the relationship going? This movie depicts how today's youth view love, one-night stands, relationships, serious relationships, hookups, and marriage. Do they want to be solely focused on their careers, or do they want to pursue both? Characters and Acting: Kartik Aaryan has played two parts, Veer & Raghu. He has done both roles skilfully, and his acting reflects whatever was needed to play these parts. Whether it's a comedy scenes, a dance scenes, the pain of loneliness, or a love scenes, he has captured every emotions on screen. Additionally, noteworthy is Sara Ali Khan's performance as Zoe. Her facial expressions are superb, whether they are of anger, love, comedy, or the delivery of dialogues. She has a very important role to play, and she has performed it flawlessly. Additionally, Randeep Hooda's performance as Raj is distinct. He does a good job in the supporting role as well. He did a great job of expressing every emotion on his face, whether it was the joy of winning or the anguish of losing. Since she began her acting career with the film's director, Aarushi Sharma's performance in the role of Leena can be considered respectable. Her first Hindi film was Tamasha(2015). Additionally outstanding is Simone Singh's performance as Mrs. Chauhan. Written and Directed: Imtiaz Ali, a well-known figure in Bollywood for helming hit films like Jab We Met(2007), Love Aaj Kal(2009), Rockstar(2010), Highway(2014), Tamasha(2015) and Jab Harry met Sejal(2017) is the director of this movie. Although his directing in this movie is excellent as well, it appears that he has lost some of his control and the plot has veered off course. After seeing the film, it appears that he is dragging it along. The story-screenplay is weak as well, and although the dialogue is exceptional, the storyline is uninteresting and has been forced along. Cinematography: Amit Roy's is good; he did a great job filming the Himachal Pradesh and Udaipur scenes, and Delhi was also shown beautiful. Editing: Aarti Bajaj's is a little loose and slow, and it bores in some spots. It also moves slowly, and it could have shortened by making some cuts. Ishaan Chhabra's background score balanced. The choreography by Vijay Ganguly is passable. Costume Design: In keeping with his part in the movie, Aki Narula's are excellent. Production Design: The house and café designed by Suman Roy Mahapatra splendid. Sound Design: Excellent work by Dhiman Karmakar. Music: Shayad, Meharma, Parmeshwar, and Tanha are Pritam's three to four magnificent songs. Lyrics: Irshad Kamil wrote some good songs. Climax: Excellent work. Viewpoint: Only watch once! Those who enjoy romantic comedies should see this movie at least once. Message: When starting their lives, what should today's youth watch first? Love? Connections? Career? Getting married? Relationships and love, or both? One? Love or Career? Career or Relationship? They're also perplexed! There are explicit scenes in the film, such as kissing and undressing. Consequently, children shouldn't permitted to watch the film with their parents. CBFC Cuts & Modifications: Intimate scenes: The CBFC shortened another scene and cut a kissing scene between Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, the main actors. Additionally, the CBFC omitted some private scenes and substituted a blow-up shot for a scene in which the actors undressing. Audio: The words “fk” and “f***g” were among those muted by the CBFC. They substituted “saale besharmo” for “haramzaadon” as well. Cleavage: After a scene of lovemaking, the CBFC requested that the makers blur the cleavage.
