Came to a realization last night that while there are plenty of ships I enjoy where the nature of their relationship isn’t exactly public knowledge, I find “secret relationship” as a set of tropes (meeting up for trysts while worrying about getting caught, angsting about “hiding their love” or whatnot, etc) to usually be boring, unpleasant, or borderline squicky to read about.
