i see you now. the way you grew out your hair and learned to put it up. the flag that sits now on your bed, and when it arrived, how you wanted to run through the streets with it held high above your head. how regal you've become. a hundred different details in the way you walk and move. and you've walked so far in the last few years.

yet, still one foot in the closet, my dear. i see those dresses that sit on their hangars, untouched. maybe skirts are more your thing, but you can just wear them because they're beautiful, and they are beautiful on you, love.
