Is there a snippet/brainstorm/headcannon/other thing that you really wanted to include in Lest, but had to scrap or put aside bc it didn’t fit with the story?
for the most part i think i’ve gotten all my wanted scenes and points across in the fic.
certain things i had to dial back some but they’re still there, mostly in terms of peoples back stories. like i originally wanted more of jay, more of his artistic side and his own issues cus he lives above the shops too, he’s there all the time as well, so i wanted him to have a little bit more screen time but just didn’t work out like that. same with bill to a degree; like i wanted to more formally address his own issues and how his ptsd affects him specifically but again, didn’t pan out so there are just kinda hints of bill’s own issues
honestly i did do a fair amount of research on different ways ptsd can manifest in people and i wanted to get it in for everyone (because even tho eugene has probably the worst among the group, they all have varying degrees of it, which also helps to cement their relationship) and its still there if you look but again, i wanted it to be more obvious
there are some backstory bits that i do have want to write as their own side pieces, just because they’re too big to just throw into the main fic (like andy and eddie’s whole side story and relationship and like, burgie and flo getting together, probably eugene and bill reuniting and their relationship leading up to the shop)
also, just kinda funny stuff, but i was looking at my original doc where i just started kinda spit balling ideas and two very major differences between this first round of ideas and my final product was that i originally had sidney living with eugene and also the story took place in florida ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
