this is one design, where the character already has a name and a backstory 🙈
Mica Vale is an inventor with some crazy habits. They have lost their leg in a crazy accident and lives in a secret underground. They help Jace and Hero 2 with awesome gadgets.

Inbetween Time has now over 10.000 words!
I know, it's not a lot. But I mostly write the dialogue and the settings right now. There are many placeholders in it (hero 2 is still hero 2, I have to change the years and there is one role named "random scientist 1')
I have 7 scenes written so far, with the second one being the shortest (551 words) and the sixth being the longest (2.657 words).
I am happy about it!
I really would like one friend to read it, but she hasn't (I think she ain't got the time right now). But I keep writing. My outline ist still really big and there is so much more to my plot.
I made a little animation
I have this idea for Inbetween Time, that whenever Malia is flustered and/or nervous, she pulls her hair in front of her face to hide.

It's messy and it's like my third animation, so it's definitely not the best 😅
Inbetween Time
A time travel story, that I once dreamed about. Please don't judge it
Settings:
A past with a secret science lab, researching the future
A future in which an AI tries to gain control over every land
Jace lives in the year 2137. Most parts of the country are controlled by an AI and even if it seems perfect on the outside, it really isn't. Jace's uncle suddenly disappeared after saying something against the AI, many lost their jobs, almost everything is tracked. Jace became part of an underground group, trying to sabotage the AI latest plan - gaining control over the other countries. Unfortunately, their cover blew up, leaving Jace and Nicolas running for their lives.
A bit of the city, they stumble into a forest and finding a building, that seems to be completely unknown and abandoned. Using it as an escape, they find documents and ... a time machine?
Being found, they use the time machine to escape, even though time travel is almost as unknown as the edge of the universe.
In the year 2129, some scientists are conducting research in a secret facility. Chaos breaks out when suddenly two guys are standing in a room that outsiders are never allowed to enter. They insist on talking to a "Malia".
Malia, being one of the scientists to know the time travel experiment, is shocked. What should she do, in the middle of the night, knowing that she cannot leave them without supervision in a building full of life changing technology?
After a few days, she and her roommate Ella realize, that both Jace and Nicolas are no risk. They even decide to help them, after hearing about the AI.
But a time travel incident is now excuse for free time. Malia tries to study the time travelers, while a few others analyze documents and information from Jace and Nicolas. Then, Malia has to travel one week into the future herself. Knowing, that Jace and Nicolas came to her time without side effects, she doesn't overthinks it.
Will they find a way to stop the AI in the future? Are there really no side effects to time travel? What happened to the scientists in the eight years? Why did I dream of this?

Inbetween Time
I am still in my character design phase for this story, but i have a somewhat good outline.
Now, I thought, maybe I should give each character a thing, they can get recognized by.
I already established, that Malia has some kind of monitor in her arm, that works like a little computer and also tracks her health
For Ella, I thought about her having a lost a finger and now using a prosthetic for it
Hero 2 (who still needs a name) could have a scar right on his cheek, that he is kinda embarrassed about
One Friend of the heros could have lost their leg but modified their prosthetic with many gizmos
But that still means, that Jace and another friend of him still need something... Any Ideas?
Ella - Inbetween Time
Ella is fit. When she or Malia need a break from everything the both hit the gym. They begin with a nice jog, before boxing (Ella LOVES it because she can let out all of her rage)
I am not quite happy with her face and this drawing took longer than expected 😅)
