On May 26th, 2016 I received my very first hate message in my inbox. I don’t accept anons, so this person either created a blog or had one for this sort of purpose, and sent me the following regarding my fic, Your Light in the Mist:

This, for a hot minute, almost made me stop writing. I almost abandoned my story, my 405K word story that I love and others have loved. It’s people like this assholic chucklefuck that bring writers down and make them give up.THEY are sick and disgusting. THEY have no decency and are pathetic. Never, ever let them derail your work, or your dreams!

I don’t know who was behind this blog, but I hope they still check in to hate read here once in a while, because now seems like the perfect moment to share this.

Thanks SO VERY MUCH for the tip, elleryqueenblog - I took your advice and GOT AN EDITOR! For the series I’m writing and getting PAID FOR.
