Biking in traffic

Dear IND,

Today I learned that biking in Amsterdam is the same as driving in America. Follow the normal rules of the road, there are dedicated traffic lights, don’t try to go when it’s not your right of way...

... or you may find yourself swerving out of the way of one of these guys.

Tram Tracks

Dear IND,

Today I learned the importance of making sure to turn your bike wheel perpendicular to the tram tracks when trying to ride across them.

Today I wasn't almost run over by bicyclists as I stood awkwardly in the "fietspad". I made sure to swiftly escape being categorized as a tourist and moved to safer ground.

Today I ate herring. It was covered in chopped onions and served with a pickle slice. I held it by the tail and dangled it into my mouth to eat it.
