New post because I'm on the second chapter of Weihnacht, which is a significant time skip after the first one.
First of all aww at Karl saying that no matter how rough life may have been, anything would've been worth it, having met "the richest of all gifts I have received - my magnificent, incomparable Winnetou, and having formed a friendship with him that I want to call almost unique".
Only for him to then segue into calling all other novels set around native Americans shit and calling them out for plagiarism and harming the youth lol. My dude, you don't have a leg to stand on about calling others out for writing about America without ever having crossed the ocean. I know the narrator Old Shatterhand/Karl May is different from the author Karl May but there's definitely some bleed through about not liking his rival authors in this section.
