The technique combines multiple movements that may seem contradictory—external hip rotation and internal hip rotation happening at the same time, spinal twisting and lateral stretching, and internal rotation of the shoulders. If you understand how to work the asana step by step and learn to stop at whatever step is appropriate for you, then you can safely practice this asana at all levels.
