hiya! for the dn ask game, i would like to ask #s 21, 19, and 5!
hello and thank you @korrororo! And thank you for making this fun ask meme!
21. A Death Note fanwork that you’ve made and are proud of:
Okay, TECHNICALLY I think the one I put the most work into and that I am proud of in a way was a bigass Beyond Birthday fic I wrote like 10 years ago where Beyond picks up the Death Note, finally learns what his shinigami eyes are all about, and then terrorizes L with it for a while in a way that actually legitimately captures L's attention and makes L sweat. Proud of it because it was like 50k words long and because I worked really hard on stuff like trying to get all the rules right, finding a realistic way for L and Light to somehow still meet up in this alternate universe, and for also coming up with clever little ways for L to figure shit out about B (stuff like that L figured out B could somehow READ his name by sight because he was mispronouncing "Lawliet")... I am NOT proud enough of it to actually post it anywhere for anybody to read it right now though, because I know that it has massive flaws in it as well, and the quality of fic is so amazing in this fandom and there are so many writers I admire that I interact with here on the regular, and I'm extremely hard on myself with my own attempts at writing and only ever see the embarrassing imperfections in what I write.
If we are talking about fanworks I've made that are still actually posted for people to see at the moment, then HMMM I still quite enjoy the genderbends I've drawn of L and Light! they are truly very special to me, and I was extremely flattered afterwards when some others were inspired to draw their own versions of them and shared them with me as well!
(Here's a tag to browse if you wanna see some of the other excellent artists' renditions that I've collected here, too [X])
19. What would be your staple Kira-catching outfit?
HONESTLY it's kinda hard to beat L just showing up in jeans and a T-shirt and not even doing anything like wearing a mask to hide his face the entire time he's interacting with the guy he is almost entirely positive is Kira. To me that's one of the most underrated and badass bits of characterization about him overall.
PERSONALLY though I guess I maybe wouldn't mind decking myself out in a big yellow rain slicker and a hoodie and carrying around a super nosey logbook about my peers, like Harriet the Spy...
5. A scene that makes you laugh:
One of my fave little manga moments is L going: "Who asked you, Watari?" whenever Watari butts in and embarrasses him in front of everybody during his big dramatic testing of Aizawa's loyalty scene... SUCH a petulant little "god mom, get out of my room!!!" moment from the best detective in the world, and also just a phrase that I find extremely fun to say
[Death Note ask meme]
i love that you're a kpop/hockey blog, like, two niche wildly different fan experiences both filled with rpf lol
i came for the hockey (go caps!!) but am enjoying your kpop commentary even if i don't understand anything about it! go itzy go!
HELLO ANONYMOUS CAPS FAN. welcome!!! welcome to my brain rot!!! i love you as i love all caps fans things that are holy and good
as it turns out kpop and hockey are actually shockingly similar. i maintain that kpop is just Music Sports in a very specific way, so my relatively new (about a year and a half) experience of being a rabid kpop fan has actually felt extremely familiar. :)
i have never really been interested in rpf for hockey (no judgment, just never got into it myself!) but something about the kpop girlies in itzy grabbed me by the throat idk...i've never felt compelled to write before. they got me! what can i say!
in sum:
i am but a simple bi girl. i love my goofy homoerotic hockey boys with extra fluffy lettuce as much as i love my exceedingly beautiful equally goofy dynamite dancer kpop girlies. i love the washington capitals, and i love international kpop girl group sensation ITZY. my first attempt at writing is a piece that combines these two loves, and i am deeply enjoying the experience. welcome to my blog :)

A more plain proclamation had never been spoken. 'OUT' was as clear as he could make it without severing each individual limb from her twiggy body and tossing it piece by piece down the rusted corridors. His instructions would have been followed without predicable complaint then, though her consciousness would have ceased to comprehend events as they transpired.
Humanity simply couldn't adhere to the words written boldly in front of their faces, so compelled by their own justifications, greed and motivations as they were. They could not DREAM that anything existed to challenge their stance in any given situation, simply could NOT be deterred from the path they had chosen once a course was set.
Unfathomable!
"Reclaiming my brethren."
Knives strode further into the room with its flickering emergency lights, pale eyes focused on the pods. That the chill was still successfully settled in the air told him how much had been sunk into funding the preservation of the Plants inside, how much the humans who had once commandeered the ship had trusted in the process. The Plants endured while the humans had wilted into nonexistence.
And while it was true humanity was often prepared for challenging obstacles ahead, they didn't always deal with the threat with the speed necessary for survival.
Their greed was too powerful for that.
A trail of knives dragged behind him, hanging like gory ribbons from his back.
He stopped in front of the pods, looking up at them, but hardly able to see what existed inside. The frost was so thick. He lifted a hand to lay against the surface, fingers splayed along the glass. He added the other hand and closed his eyes. Lines etched their way across his face, neck, arms, legs, everything, as coolly illuminated as the room itself was under the glow of the warning lights.
OK here's another one. Nightmare.
So we say he made his group around him because he didn't want to be alone right? Subconsciously anyway. Because before he was always alone.
Maybe when he went back to them, he thought it was different, like just maybe people did care about him in someway. Or that they thought he was worth something. But no.
They (other then killer it seems) used him. They used him just like the people had used Dream all those years ago. And just like with the people they only cared while they had something to gain.
So nightmare is alone again. But he really had always been alone, both of them had always been doomed to be. Maybe this time he can understand what Dream went through back then and see things from his brothers point of view. Maybe he can see that neither of them got the good part of the deal.
Idk just a thought.

UPD:
Really XD @help-im-a-gay-fish what do you think about it (゚∀゚)?
'Michal is a princess with blood beneath her fingernails and a scream continually trapped in her throat. The moment she meets David, she sees the same fierce burning fire and that is what draws her to him and, at the same time, makes it clear to her that if they give into this they are destined to both burn. Too much violence, too much teeth, in one relationship. But she takes it for as long as it lasts because she lives almost vicariously through him. When he kills Goliath, she pants like she's thrown the shot. When he comes home drenched in blood, it's her ribs that are run through with sword slashes. And she is glad, fiercely glad, that they run from her as they run from him. That they sense the viciousness in her that could rip them apart with just a look. She is terrifying and she is beautiful and deeply, deeply fascinating.' - Women in the Book of Samuel - A Commentary.
