You watch desi tv shows because you like them, I watch them to fall in love with the caring female lead who babies her manchild of an annoying husband because I have mommy issues. We are not the same.
Shit that match maker aunty must be earning so much setting up boys and girls, and she gets to attend these wedding and eat that top notch catering, I see new career paths opening up
Churails (”Witches”) (2020 - )
Four women set up an undercover detective agency to expose philandering husbands. When one of them goes missing, their investigation leads them to something much bigger than themselves, dominated by Karachi's most powerful.
I read a few good reviews about this web series and decided to check it out. I like supporting original writing so I got myself a pass for Zee5 TV.
This show is just incredible, it starts off a little cheesy and then you think that you know the story is all about and it changes. The characters are all, I suppose, representing all kinds of women. It is 10 episodes and covers so much, the topics that are dealt with are: Cheating, forced marriages, corruption, child marriages, abuse, murder, abortions, divorces, gay rights, double standards, class divide, snobbery, racism, hypocrisy, body image, cosmetic surgery, beauty industry, dark side of entertainment world, runaways, adoptions etc etc. It’s in your face at times, sometimes the characters talk to YOU in voice over. It’s just brilliant and I cannot recommend it enough.
I think it will be showing on Netflix soon, but viewers in the UK and in South Asia can watch it on Zee5 . I highly recommend it if you want to watch something original, set in a different setting that is thought provoking. Excellent soundtrack and cinematography too. Loved the opening credits.
