Tranquiloraptor on the Baruch Ashenm sculpture
I used my old paleo artwork, an online picture of the Baruch Ashenm sculpture, and my Indian Peafowl picture as a reference for the drawing base idea for the drawing ✏️ 💡.

Back on the bandwagon! It’s been so long since I took part in the last #florafaunachallenge 🌼🌿 here is today’s entry for the Indian Peafowl 💙 Part of the Flora Fauna challenge hosted by @felicityandink @emm99493 @anne_kubik . . . #floraandfauna #print #pattern #designer #freelance #floral #flower #floralsyourway #monochrome #bird #peacock #indianpeafowl #peafowl #typography #drawing #makersgonnamake #ink #handdrawn #moderncalligraphy #moderntypography #calligraphy #design #stephaniecoletextiles (at London, United Kingdom)
The moment the Indian Peafowl unveils its display at Jaldapara National Park is pure photographic magic!
But capturing that magnificent train of iridescent feathers—especially the sheer scale of the display—presents a huge challenge for beginner bird photographers. You need to get the light right to avoid harsh shadows and properly expose both the dark blue neck and the vibrant green ocelli (eyespots) of the tail feathers.
We waited patiently in Jaldapara National Park, West Bengal, to capture this male (Pavo cristatus) during the peak courtship display season (March to June).
In my latest blog post on Bird Photography for Beginners, I break down the exact camera settings, lens choice (telephoto is key!), and approach techniques needed to get within the optimal 10m minimum distance without disturbing the bird or interrupting the natural spectacle.
Don't just take pictures—capture the spectacle! 👇
