It went against every principle that Lydia Martin had learned in training at the academy, but for some reason, she simply could not stop letting Stiles Stilinski go. He was a criminal, something that every instinct inside her told her was wrong, that he cared nothing for the law and those who abided it. Moreover he was an arrogant jerk most of the time, and yet she never failed to let him slip through her fingers - which, she always claimed, was accidental. But Lydia wasn’t so sure.
Something about him had always intrigued her, that she couldn’t deny. And they had been close to catching him so many times. Her partner thought she had a screw loose when it came to Stilinski, and Lydia herself wasn’t quite sure what it was about him. But she couldn’t put him behind bars. As long as he didn’t do anything too reckless, she was ready to let him continue his antics, for a little while longer at least.
Lydia was halfway through her first glass of wine for the evening when she heard her kitchen door slip open. Her hearing was excellent from her training, even after a few gulps of rosé. Gun in hand, she stepped carefully towards the door which lead to the kitchen. The young woman wondered vaguely of it was the guy from the failed date she had been on that evening. She had been forced to leave early when the blind date her partner, Allison had sent her on had turned out to be an absolute ass. But guy was dim-witted too — he wouldn’t have been able to find out her address, surely... However, when Lydia stepped into the kitchen, the frame she saw was not wide and bulky like her date, but taller and lankier. She would recognise that dark hair anywhere.
Lydia’s heart flipped in her chest at the sight of him, hands jumping to attention in front of her body, gun automatically aimed at his head. “What — the hell are you doing here, Stilinski?” She demanded. Her eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of the blood on his hand and his slightly weak stance — was he injured? “What happened?” She hissed, chewing her lower lip as she scanned over his figure once again before her gaze settled on his face. “You have five seconds to give me an explanation before I shoot you or book you, Stilinski.”
