Often times when people think about the South Bay, they think of the beach cities, rich white people, that it’s racist, or that most people are well off here. While most of that is true, Black & Brown communities are usually left out of that conversation. The further inland you go from the beach, you notice how redlining has impacted the nearby cities and how the available resources begin to change. Additionally, often times people do not associate the South Bay with Los Angeles. Many other orgs are centered in South Central or Downtown and we didn’t see many in our own communities. We are here to highlight the QTBIPOC folks that do live here and reclaim and transform our home into a more autonomous community that centers collective care for its Black and Brown residents. We are abolitionists that believe that we cannot reach autonomy until capitalism and the police are abolished. Marginalized folxs have had their time stolen by capitalism and are forced to work their entire lives just to survive. We believe that everyone deserves quality food, education, housing, and love. Always. That is why we provide the essential resources they need so they can focus on truly living and healing 🤍We are fully powered by the community and run by local youth volunteers. This is mutual aid. This is what community looks like.
