SO I JUST FINISHED RE-WATCHING SEASON 1 OF SUPERGIRL and since the show has lost sight of ya know it’s characters and basically what’s going on ima talk about what I miss and some stuff on what the show needs to explain :

What I miss :

- Noons (I think that’s the name) it was a restaurant and bar that they went to every day that suddenly disappeared

- Kara talking about her culture on krypton naturally and in an everyday way not just when it’s convenient to the plot

- Winn

- Alex and J’onns father daughter relationship

- that one agent who worked at the Deo who was always helping I can’t remember her name but I like her

- CAT 👏 FUCKIN 👏 GRANT

-the fact that Kara actually acknowledges that her family abandoned her.

-maxwell lord the season ended with him holding Kryptonian tech?!!?? Like where did he go and what was he planning with that. Also just Maxwell in general yeah I know he just kids felt like a Lex Luthor fill in at sometimes but I loved him.

- did I mention CAT

- Kara being an assistant like I love reporter Kara and would die for her but she never does REAL reporting anymore and it felt like they were kinda shoving her into Clark’s role play I loved the whole “I just want to be useful” thing and it actually hit me right to the core and really shows that part of Kara off really well. Don’t get me wrong so does being a reporter but it does feel like to me that They did just re-shape it to make her seem more like superman.

-the kryptonite sword I want one.

-LIVEWIRE aka the best and I miss Leslie everyday.

Things that DEFIANTLY need addressing : (okay yes a lot are about brainy sue me)

-indigo ( also someone I miss ) how can Brainiac 8 be from before Brainiac 5

- also Kara said she recognised the brainiac symbol from indigo but everything she’s learned from brainy seems to be a massive surprise to her

- also regarding the Brainiac situation can Brainy not travel through computers like Indigo did ?? When bullets where shot at indigo they didn’t hurt her at all and just went through her even tho we’ve seen brainy be hurt. So this goes back to what the timeline sitch is because is indigo is a full AI (aka before the coluans went bio-organic) then how is she brainiac 8 whilst he’s 5

- WHERE DID MAXWELL LORD GO AND WHATS HE DOING WITH THE KRYPTONIANS TECH ?

- also most of the myriad signal was coming from fort Rozz so a)what the fuck is the device we see in S5 and b) how is it fully functional as myriad without Fort Rozz ??

-Lucy Lane J’onn said they would be working together from now on but then she (not unlike Maxwell ) just kinda disappeared

So yall know about the DC Fandome thing where you can ask questions and stuff..... may or may not have immediately asked about Indigo.... I just want answers man.

although I feel like they didn't know they were going to introduce Brainy when they chose Indigo, they probably just wanted to have a female Brainiac character for Laura Vandervoort to play, and she was the only one other than Brainiac 4, who is so tied to Brainy anyway. So they didn't think about it, and by the time Brainy was introduced they might've figured everyone forgot about Indigo because she was only in 3 episodes. (but I didn't forget)

It definitely feels that way and don’t get me wrong I love indigo but I feel like if they got Brainy to like address indigo at least once to explain what the hell was going on it would make so much more sense. Indigo was like the final Boss of season 1 the baddy who you didn’t know about untill the end but she definitely made a massive impact on how the season ended and the story. It’s almost as if the shows choosing to ignore her since even though we had an entire episode showing off different Brainiacs we didn’t hear one mention of her at all.

At this point I can’t tell if they’ve actually forgotten themselves or not because I don’t think it’s something Brainy would take lightly. He is haunted by his family’s mistakes and he fights everyday to prove he’s nothing like them so to have had someone who shares the same name as him attack the people who he cares for the most and actually attempt to murder them and countless others you think that would be something Brainy would make himself aware of.

Especially since he was Director of the DEO for a short while , that combined with the fact he’s most likely linked with all the computers/databases there in the 2 years he’s been there he would have definitely come across her file - or the code that Winn created to stop her. They didn’t plan for Brainiac 5 to be in the show and that’s why they’re choosing to ignore it now. Tbh i don’t know if this is true or not but I don’t think they originally planned to keep Brainy at all. I think due to Jermey having his baby and wanting time off and the love the fans had for Brainy I think they just kept him as a good compromise for jermey leaving ya know. So no real thought went into adding him in. He was just put in last minute so they didn’t come up with a story on how he/ indigo work and hope we forgot.

if I had to headcanon anything as to why Indigo is so different from Brainy, I'd say that Indigo is more inorganic because she was literally built to serve on Krypton as a supercomputer, like a lot of Coluans at the time probably, whereas Brainy is from a time where Coluans are half-technological and half-organic, so he's literally more human than her. still cannot come up with an explanation for why she's Brainiac 8 and he's Brainiac 5, though.

Okay so I looked it up and I honestly am so confused as to who the duck Indigo is. I looked at “The Dox Family” tree and it says Indigo is a possible alt timeline of Virl Dox aka Big man Brainiac the first ??? Which makes no sense is she’s supposed to be 8 ??? Yet when I looked up her biography it claims she’s from a distant future era ?? It’s almost like DC has no idea who she is at all and is hoping we don’t notice since she’s such a minor character within the comics. In the Teen titans comics (when she was first introduced in the DC comics ) it claims that her Grandfather is Brainiac 6 ( and he actually designed her kinda like a computer to kill superhero’s such as Donna Troy). This would definitely indicate she’s AFTER Brainiac 5 which again makes no sense especially since she’s still continuing with the original Brainiacs plan which was to take Kryptons knowledge (as that’s what she was put in Fort Rozz for ). It’s also revealed the reason Donna is a main target because because “a living Donna would negate Coluan domination over the ‘organics’ after the ‘Infinite Crisis’ events.” Wither this has something to do with her being a full Ai rather then Techno-organic like Brainy Idk. That being said I don’t think we can ever really figure out who the hell indigo is supposed to be until a day where DC might try and salvage the mess that is her origin

Personally I’ve had this Dox family Au in my head for years where Indigo is actually A close relative of Brainys who went psycho trying to become smart enough to be deemed a Brainiac and got the name Brainiac 8 after someone like 4 said something to her about how she wasn’t smart enough to be a Brainiac and wouldn’t be for another 3 generations at least ( Hense the 8) . It’s also why she went back in time , she would read story’s about the supers after what knowledge is left and decided as an act to prove herself as a Brainiac she would steal Kryptons knowledge. She obviously failed and got trapped in the past. At least that’s what I’ve always imagined.
