How to make your wardrobe seasonless: Part 1- transitioning crop tops

Let’s face it, as much as you’d love to buy pieces that can be worn year- round, those summer crop tops were too tough to resist. I personally gave in to temptation 5 or 6 times, and now have a problem that needs solving. How do I wear these shirts now that it’s fall?!

There is a simple solution: Overalls! 

Lucky for us, this style is back- let’s take full advantage! Crochet tops, cropped tees, and cropped tanks all look great under any style overalls. We’ve seen colored, skinny, and distressed overalls on just about everyone this year (even guys!), and it’s time to get on board.

We scooped up some really beautiful deadstock* knits and tweeds to bring you a special, limited edition Valentine's Collection. V-Collection consists of 3 styles: V-Sweatshirt, V-Tote, and the tried-and-true Blanket Scarf.

Indigo Apparel’s studio is now located in the Nova Sanctuary! Right next door to us is a float tank, designed for ultimate relaxation and meditation.Here are our two, honest experiences of our first floating experiences.

Deprived

Going along with my recently heightened

sense of adventure, I found myself standing

in front of the Sensory Deprivation Tank,

ready to surrender to the experience.

Before me stood an egg-like cocoon of

warmth and my inner consciousness; it was

only when I shut myself in, and the world

out, that I felt the familiarity of Self flood

before me and then, encapsulate me. I

became aware of points of tension in my

body, and felt them release as I allowed

trust to eclipse fear. The surrounding

darkness felt familiar, like an old friend.

When our beautiful clients come in and ask

me about the short and long term benefits of

this experience, I tell them about how I was

cradled in love, and in an intensely

embryonic state. Even in the limited

experience I’ve had with it, the hour spent in

solitude has created a sense of serenity still

with me over a week later. Imagine the

benefits of continuing on with this meditative

practice, even once a month.

Enlightenment can be found when the mind

is open and waiting to receive. This is the

practice with which The Nova Sanctuary

aligns itself and because of this, shares the

healing properties of sacrality, imbued with

the talents and energy of all those who have

become a part of this family.

Sensory Deprivation. Laying in a pod full of salty water, I'll admit, for the first ten minutes the reality of it was all I could think about. My skin was slightly irritated, I couldn't get comfortable (I was holding my head up in the air for no reason at all), and I was staring at the ceiling thinking, "what am I doing in this thing?". I told myself I would give it a fair chance, so I stuck it out and waited for a few minutes. My body relaxed. The salt no longer stinging, my muscles relaxed. I turned off the soft colored light, and closed my eyes. Laying in the float pod, listening to the melodic beats of Tycho, I tried to calm my mind (not something I'm very good at). I started to drift, and I actually felt a sensation like I was floating through space! Soon my conscious mind jumped into action and pulled me back to Earth. The dilemma of not regularly meditating, I suppose. The real benefits, for me, came after I got out of the float tank. I don't think my body has ever been so relaxed! So smooth and exfoliated from the salt, and my limbs were jello- like I had an hour long massage. I immediately want to do it again. Hopefully next time my mind will relax, too.
