Hello darling! Thanks so much for the prompt!
Oh I like this. This is gonna be fun.
13. “Why is a baker’s dozen thirteen?” “We got an extra donut, shut up.”
It was no secret Toph hated mornings. The fact that she was awake at 8am, on a Saturday no less, spoke to her level of excitement for the day's activities. It was the Earth Rumble championship, and Aang and Toph had splurged on VIP tickets. They would be spending the entire day at the arena, had meet and greets with three of the wrestlers, and would be front and center for the big fights.
But first they stopped at a coffee shop for the breakfast of champions: donuts and cheap coffee.
"Would you like a random assortment or pick your flavors?" The cashier asked. Aang looked to Toph, who shrugged.
"Surprise us," Aang said.
"Great! Baker's dozen and two coffees comes to $15.75."
Toph passed over her card, letting Aang take the receipt. He carefully passed her the coffees, accepting the box of donuts from the cashier and grabbing a fistful of napkins.
“Why is a baker’s dozen thirteen?” Aang mused as they piled back in his car.
“Who cares? We got an extra donut, shut up.”
Aang chuckled to himself, shaking his head at his girlfriend's antics. He'd have to wait till her coffee kicked in to start asking curious questions.
He glanced over at her, watching as she bit into a strawberry sprinkle donut, her bangs falling in front of her eyes. Aang smiled to himself, focusing back on the road.
She might be a grump in the morning, but she was his grump, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
