Hi! I am visiting Norway next year and am so excited. I've wanted to go for years. Is there a certain type of tour that people go on? Which city would you recommend? Also, what season is best to see the Northern Lights? Thank you so much, I'm also learning some Norweigan!

I’d recommend the biggest cities; Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Tromsø, Ålesund... They are a bit scattered though, so visiting them all is probably difficult (depends on how long you re visiting for).

Place I highly recommend are Lofoten, Hardanger, Kristiansand, (never been but I really want to visit) Ålesund. You can take Hurtigruten, which is an express mini-cruise, from Bergen all the way up to northern Norway and ends in Kirkenes (although you can choose your starting and ending point). This is quite expensive though but it is a popular attraction for both tourists and Norwegians alike.

As for northern lights; the best season is september/october-march/april, and you’ll have the best chance of spotting it in northern Norway and Svalbard.

Hi! I'm going to be a Sophomore in high school this year, and I want to do cross country. I have been running 10 miles a week for like three weeks and I feel ready to bump it up to like 15 and maybe even 20 in a few months. Can I join the team this fall? My school does workouts in the summer, which I'll do too ( as well as personal runs). What else should I do to prepare? Thank you so much.

YES. Join! You’re honestly doing much more than most people do before they join XC. And yes, I would continue to safely bump it up. Maybe first to 15 for a couple weeks, then to 20. Don’t raise it too quickly though due to risk of injury.

Nothing else to prepare. Just make sure you have comfortable clothes and good running shoes (recommended by a specialty running store) before starting. You’ll do great, have fun, meet friends, improve yourself, and be awesome!
