What I’ve Always Been..

I have always been the solitary one. 

I have always been the quiet child.  I have always been the weird one.  I have always been the brave one.  I have always been the one to fade away..

But what I always will be is the rabid individualist, the protector of the unique, the crusader for expression, and the lover of annihilating passion.  All these things are hidden behind the curtain of introversion, hidden still, behind the stone wall of logic.  But it is there… Waiting, for those who care to see.

when I was younger

I cared

about what others thought.

I presented myself in a manner

society seemed to accept.

as i get older

i realize that it really doesn't matter what

“they” think

it’s more important

to do what you want..

wear what you want

say what you want

love who you want

eat what you want

do your hair how you want

do the things you want to do

listen to the music you like

dance how you want to dance

become what you want to become

be your own inspiration

we only have one life

and it’s always so short

too short

to live someone else’s

satisfied version of you

you are an individual

not a forced copy

don’t choose

to waste your power of choice

let them do them

you can focus on

doing you..

(please, please, please!! always live your life to your own standards, whoever pushes their beliefs on you don't deserve your attention. you’re too special to be controlled by someone else..even if you dont know me or follow me or have never read a single poem of mine.. i still support you even when no one else does.. and I will never judge you.. so be yourself and you know you have me cheering you on! (: )

It's hard for me to know where I stand since I'm far too unorthodox to be considered conservative yet so set in my ways to be called a liberal. If you can relate, do yourself a favor and disown all labels such as these and stay true to your own worldview.

Hey, GUESS WHAT? No one person is just like another person!! Some people are naturally smart and some people are, well, not. Some people take an hour to get over something, some people take days, months, years, or simply never get over something. Healing is a process!! And getting pissed at someone for not being over something is NOT okay!! Being there for them and helping them get over it IS okay!! Some people are optimists and some are pessimists. I've been thinking a lot about this and I just want to say that your body is yours. Nobody else's. Look how YOU want. Eat what YOU want. Wear what YOU want. Look how YOU want. Just be happy with you and the world will be too :)
