Hi! Unfortunately, I don’t think there are any fictional tv shows/movies about people in modern day choosing to wear hanfu. I wish there were, though!

I tried to imagine a version of the Pushing Daisies AU where her first name actually was Consort (which is an INCREDIBLY CURSED CONCEPT) and this happened:
He offered her his arm with an overly formal bow. “My name is Lin Chen. It is an honor to make your acquaintance.”
She found herself laughing as she took his arm. “Lin Consort. The honor is all mine.”
Lin Chen froze, still bent in an attitude of exaggerated deference, arm outstretched. “I’m sorry, your name is what?”
She sighed. “Consort. It’s an old family name. Apparently there was a mistranslation a few generations back, but it’s become something of a tradition now.”
He blinks, and blinks again. She braces herself for the pickup line she has learned to expect. It cannot be worse than what Xiao Xuan had said, once upon a time, but she resigns herself to finding another flower shop anyway. Nothing good comes out of this sort of conversation, and she takes far fewer chances these days.
“Well it’s better than ‘Concubine,’ I suppose. And now, Dr. Lin, the best cakes in the city await us, if you will allow me.”
As they crossed the street, side by side and already following the scent of wife cakes, she found the corners of her mouth tugging up. For all it’s facetiousness, his arm was steady and firm under her hand. His voice was pleasant, chattering gently about this bakery and its many wonders. Perhaps, she thought, she would buy that peony after all.

Sounds like this person can't imagine that others are different from them. Or that realizing this would force them to look at their own preferences or ideas of men and womens' attractions differently.
it is just such an odd thing to argue about, and their strategy of showing me shirtless photos of celebrities to get me to admit the truth was perhaps not the best one
Hi, I was wondering how men put up their hair (like in Nirvana in Fire) and held together with a guan if they had male pattern baldness and had no hair right where the guan would rest?
Huh…that is a really good question that I never thought about. My best guess is that they would just use a hat/cap to cover their head and hair, and insert some sort of wig/towel/other material inside the hat/cap to give the illusion of a full bun. That was actually something that ordinary men already did to make their hat/cap more structured.
Pictured below are some hat/cap styles from the Tang dynasty (Source). You can see how men could disguise baldness by wearing these and stuffing the inside with “fake buns”:
Hi again and thank you for answering my previous question. I wanted to also ask if you knew where a person would go if they wanted to commission a high quality screen accurate hanfu? I know they sell hanfu online based on tv show outfits but the quality is... bad to ok in my experience / assumption. For one thing, the fabric used isn’t as good quality and the small details are often omitted. If I wanted to spend a lot... is this a thing?
I know there are hanfu vendors that will take custom orders, but to be honest I don’t know of any that offer high-quality reproductions of screen costumes…If anyone does know ( @fouryearsofshades ?), then please share! ^^
