It was 3 in the morning and Loki still held his girlfriend close, not being able to shut his eyes for longer than just a couple minutes; and even if he managed to drift into sleep, it wouldn't last enough for him to notice. In fact, the only reason he had to believe he'd fallen asleep was that he'd suddenly wake up from his nightmare.

"It's time I tell you what happened while I was gone." Loki whispered into Cassandra's ear, hoping she'd be awake. "If you're willing to listen."
