Dead angry lesbian postal clerk from 1944 stuck in hell with two idiots save me
Estelle: But we're going to --to hurt eachother. You said it yourself.
Inez: Do I look as if I wanted to hurt you?
Estelle: One can never tell.
Inez: Much more likely YOU'LL hurt ME. Still, what does it matter? If I've got to suffer, it may as well be at your hands, your pretty hands. Sit down. Come closer. Closer. Look into my eyes. What do you see?
[ID: A section of a play, which reads, “Garcin: Will night never come? / Inez: Never. / Garcin: You will always see me? / Inez: Always.” End ID.]
No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre
“that’s better, heavier, crueler. your mouth of hell.”
Inez Serrano in watersoluble graphite~
I have to say that I love the effect I can get on curly hair with this medium.
And Inez is definitely my favourite villain/target/adversary in QoT. She is so wonderfully creepy, so wonderfully twisted, and so wonderfully predatory woman, but in such a normal, everyday way. She’s not some criminal mastermind, she’s the type of creep you can just meet anywhere, and this makes her so much more unsettling.
So, a drawing.
how is tumblr not obsessed with Inez from No Exit? a tortured lesbian who believes she is genuinely evil and spends so much of the play being rude and brooding and saying anne carson style lines? she is the prime example of evil lady people can make nuance-less posts about so why don't they exist?
