OC-related question: is there anything in particular that Violen misses about living in the Underworld? (Or alternatively, any cool little things he likes in the normal world that can't be found in the Underworld?)

As for other questions: thoughts on freezing rain?

Mostly just the conditions there. The Underworld is located near the center of the Earth, so it’s really hot and, in some places, really dark. Places like that aren’t really that common on the surface, though, so that’s definitely something he’d miss from home.

On the other hand, because the Underworld is so hot, there’s plenty of stuff from the surface world that just can’t really exist in the harsh temperatures. For example, Violen really likes ice cream, but understandably can’t take it into the Underworld with him because it sublimates (i.e. goes straight from a solid to a gas, like dry ice) almost immediately.

And to answer your other question, I can’t stand it. Rain is already a sensory nightmare for me, but it’s like 1000x worse when it’s cold. Easily one of my top 10 least favorite things. Maybe even top 5.

infernocross movie cast announcement (totally legit guys trust me 🙏)

hey the studio that made Birdemic is making an infernocross movie. here’s the cast list:

Glaive will be played by Chris Pratt, who is definitely a good choice for the role. Nothing says “average dude in his early 20s” like a conventionally attractive guy bearing his 50s!

And because they’re so similar looking, he’ll also be playing Caliber. To maintain realism in scenes where they interact, we’re actually gonna be cloning him. Believe it or not, this is actually cheaper than using a greenscreen.

Violen will be played by Ben Affleck, because as we all know, he was the best Batman. Unrelated, but did you know Violen is actually themed after a Jack-O-Lantern? It’s true!

Scori will be played by that guy from the FNAF movie. Maybe. We might cut him out of the movie completely due to stylistic differences. Who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Beetle Raider will be played by John Lennon, whom we’ve both resurrected from the dead (like jesus) and painted blue (like smurf jesus) in preparation for filming.

And lastly, our main villain Khaios will be played by- holy shit is that a skeleton

The movie releases the 69th hour, 420 days from now.

infernocross lore drop (bc i haven’t posted here in like a month and it’s been floating around in my head so why not make it canon):

the first person to fully master a skill (to the point where they know everything there is to know about it) stops aging and becomes immortal. no one knows how or why it happens.

incidentally, if it’s something really useful, like being the best at welding or “locating buried treasure based solely on vibes” or whatever, eventually Khaios will try to hunt them down to absorb/steal their mastery over whatever it is that made them immortal (and usually their life force too. since, y’know, he’s evil and whatnot.)

been thinking recently and tbh it’s pretty neat that, in making some of Caliber’s interests the polar opposite of Glaive’s, then going on to turn Khaios from an eldritch god-entity warlord to cult leader, i accidentally made Caliber really into tea by complete coincidence, given how a lot of cults also own or are closely tied to tea companies.

#infernocross #ix glaive #ix caliber #fiction writing #writing #on a semi-related note: i’ve been considering shrinking the scope of infernocross from multiple dimensions to just one #mainly because i actually didn’t realize until recently that the earth is actually way bigger than i thought #like… you can drive for five hours in my state and never leave it #and i live in one of the smaller states #not like rhode island or dc sized but more like maine or kentucky sized #i figured it’d probably take like three hours max to drive from one end of the state to the other (from top to bottom) but no. By the way and for no reason other than i happen to be thinking about it, here’s a tiny bit of Infernocross character lore. Simon’s son (and therefore Ethan’s/Glaive’s dad) is named Trevor. Middle name Julius. Simon’s father was named Leon. These are all Castlevania references.
