infernocross movie cast announcement (totally legit guys trust me 🙏)
hey the studio that made Birdemic is making an infernocross movie. here’s the cast list:
Glaive will be played by Chris Pratt, who is definitely a good choice for the role. Nothing says “average dude in his early 20s” like a conventionally attractive guy bearing his 50s!
And because they’re so similar looking, he’ll also be playing Caliber. To maintain realism in scenes where they interact, we’re actually gonna be cloning him. Believe it or not, this is actually cheaper than using a greenscreen.
Violen will be played by Ben Affleck, because as we all know, he was the best Batman. Unrelated, but did you know Violen is actually themed after a Jack-O-Lantern? It’s true!
Scori will be played by that guy from the FNAF movie. Maybe. We might cut him out of the movie completely due to stylistic differences. Who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Beetle Raider will be played by John Lennon, whom we’ve both resurrected from the dead (like jesus) and painted blue (like smurf jesus) in preparation for filming.
And lastly, our main villain Khaios will be played by- holy shit is that a skeleton
The movie releases the 69th hour, 420 days from now.
We hope to see you at the premiere… or whatever it is i’m supposed to say. idk. happy april first. :)
By the way and for no reason other than i happen to be thinking about it, here’s a tiny bit of Infernocross character lore. Simon’s son (and therefore Ethan’s/Glaive’s dad) is named Trevor. Middle name Julius. Simon’s father was named Leon. These are all Castlevania references.
Minor Details In Infernocross (that I feel like sharing)
Ever since the concept of Infernocross (then Volcross) expanded from the backstory for a single OC I used to use for roleplay and became a full standalone worldbuilding project, there have been concepts and ideas that have become canon in my mind but that, for one reason or another, I’ve never had the chance to include in any publicly available material so far. As part of my recent promise (mostly to myself) to post less “super-high-effort” things regarding the series, I figured I’d just make a list of these things. So here’s that:
The “Ethan/Glaive” Thing
As hinted at in the tags of my previous post, Ethan and Glaive are the same person. However, when writing, I tend to refer to him as Ethan when he’s not doing superhero things or has his powers turned off, e.g. just after waking up or when he’s asleep, and when he’s using his powers, I’ll refer to him as Glaive. There are some caveats to this (Brendan always calls him Ethan, Caliber always calls him Glaive) but that’s the gist of it.
Ethan’s Therapist
I decided that, since Glaive is, like, 19 or 20 and out saving the world/universe, that’s probably stressful enough, especially for someone that age, to necessitate having a professional opinion on how exactly that’s affecting them mentally. Ergo, Glaive has a therapist/psychologist (whatever the proper term is) that he sees once every two weeks, or more frequently as needed.
I’ve also decided that this therapist is why he gets so into coffee. Basically my idea is that, early on, Glaive spends so much time helping people and worrying about stopping Khaios and his cult that he’s always stressed and starts to feel like his powers are only useful as weapons, so his therapist suggests he take up a hobby that allows him to incorporate his powers, so as to use them for reasons other than fighting. He ends up deciding to take up coffee-making, becomes a coffee nerd, and also develops a minor caffeine addiction.
Christmas Knives
Because of how Caliber was raised (basically only to kill Glaive), he starts out having barely any knowledge or experience of most human things. Glaive obviously picks up on this, and, despite his better judgment, gets Caliber a knife* for his first Christmas. While confused, Caliber does accept it, and from then on, even while they’re still enemies, Glaive gifts Caliber a knife every Christmas, and three years in, Caliber gets Glaive various presents in return.
*Like, a pocket knife or a dagger. Not like a kitchen knife or something. Think something you’d see in Counter Strike.
Kabiron’s Role (and why I have to mention it)
As I’ve stated recently, I’ve decided that, instead of being a powerful force of chaos personified with two semi-willing assistants, I’ve rewritten Khaios’ whole group to be a cult that worships him. This in mind, I’ve also opted to keep his former assistant, Kabiron, in the story as well, despite the introduction of the cult aspect making his ranking in Khaios’ army questionable.
Formerly, his role was to steal powerful/useful technology from various worlds and incorporate them into Khaios’ armor-body to make him stronger. This is also why I planned to give Khaios several different physical appearances throughout the events of the story, to show him getting more powerful and therefore dangerous.
Now that Khaios’ army is a cult, I figure that, if Khaios were to want or require new technology to add to himself, his followers would probably fulfill the role of acquiring technology to give him. However, since a majority of the cultists are just supposed to be normal people, I doubt they’d have the knowledge or ability to modify Khaios’ armor without seriously fucking something up. I imagine Kabiron is either immortal or just has a ridiculously long lifespan and is the only person who actually knows how to fix and upgrade Khaios’ armor without damaging it.
Slightly unrelated, but because of this, there’s probably some sort of protocols for whatever group of cultists he lives with to make sure that, in a scenario where the lives of the cultists are threatened, his safety is guaranteed above all else.
