Stream Schedule 6/17 - 6/23/2024
It's the last normal stream schedule for a bit.
Tuesday will be the last round of Eureka Orthos with GCC before Dawntrail comes out. And we will be doing some Dawntrail prep as well this week.
We'll also see if I can get a sub 10 minute run in Curse Crackers on Wednesday! I may need to do some drills, but that sub 10 should be reasonable!
Hopefully I won't need to cancel Saturday's stream, but we shall see how much work kicks me this week.
And then next week is A LOT of festivities! (VTuber Summer Slam charity event for Gamer's Outreach, and DAWNTRAIL HEADSTART!)

MTG Modern, or: Infinite Mana and How I Learned to Win on Turn Three
Normally I'm an advocate of sanity in this game, but I've been broken. Normally I would bitch about the speed of the game and talk about how cards like Simian Spirit Guide and Azusa, Lost but Seeking should be banned and how Shocklands and Fetchlands shouldn't be simultaneously legal or otherwise complaining how there is no middle ground between Modern and EDH and you either have to play Wombo Combo 3-turn-win decks or eschew combo brewing altogether in favor of making a clusterfuck 100-card singleton deck... but not today. Today, I present to you a deck that has not just ONE, but TWO sources of infinite mana before turn 3 is over AND an effective way (other than Walking Ballista, though it IS sideboarded) to use this mana! If you were to alter this deck, which cards would you remove and which would you add? // 60 Maindeck // 24 Creature 4 Vizier of Remedies 4 Devoted Druid 4 Simian Spirit Guide 3 Bloom Tender 2 Mistcutter Hydra 3 Birds of Paradise 2 Primordial Hydra 2 Drift of Phantasms // 3 Enchantment 3 Freed from the Real // 13 Instant 3 Muddle the Mixture 3 Savage Summoning 3 Scout's Warning 4 Summoner's Pact // 18 Land 4 Hallowed Fountain 4 Temple Garden 4 Breeding Pool 3 Misty Rainforest 3 Flooded Strand // 2 Sorcery 2 Explore // 10 Sideboard // 7 Creature SB: 4 Walking Ballista SB: 1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn SB: 2 Mistcutter Hydra // 3 Instant SB: 1 Muddle the Mixture SB: 1 Savage Summoning SB: 1 Scout's Warning Vizier of Remedies + Devoted Druid is infinite mana, and Bloom Tender + Freed from the Real is infinite mana. Either of these can summon a Primordial Hydra with infinite Power/Toughness and Trample OR an UNCOUNTERABLE infinite Power/Toughness Mistcutter Hydra with Haste. Scout's Warning and Savage Summoning provide instant-speed summoning so you can start this combo on your opponent's turn after they've tapped out to avoid summon sickness. Drift of Phantasms exists only for Transmute to fetch Freed from the Real. Muddle the Mixture works as a counterspell, or can fetch nearly any card (as most of the working parts of this deck cost 2 CMC each). Summoner's Pact can fetch Bloom Tender or Devoted Druid to finish a combo, and its cost can be easily payed with infinite mana. Once infinite mana is attained, Muddle the Mixture and/or Drift of Phantasms can be freely used to fetch any necessary card from your deck. Birds of Paradise and Simian Spirit Guide help accelerate mana so you can get the combo a turn earlier. Mind that the infinite mana is green, so keep two blue mana free unless you want to be countered and mocked infinitely instead. Followup post.
I'm sure there's nothing to worry about with that glitchy landscape over there.
We're starting a new game today, Infinite Mana! I played this a while back for a SteamNextFest, but it is now fully launched!
Stream starts at 3pm EDT over on Twitch: https://twitch.tv/LiminalityCarb
So. i've been playing Infinite Mana. It's fun and cute, and some of the puzzles are kinda neat. Haven't gotten to far into the story from what I can tell and I've been playing for a couple hours.
There are some little... cosmetic, shall we say, issues that've made its way into the currently released version. Nothing that seems to break the game to terribly (except maybe the sheep not regrowing their wool?), and instead just make me laugh like a loon.
For example: The locked door that opens to tell you that you cannot open it.

A game that I've been waiting for came out a day or two ago! It's called Infinite Mana and it's a game inspired by JRPGs of the past. I really liked the premise of it and want to play it in full now!
