My friend has a hoodie with a zipper out front he wears all the time, and it has pockets outside but also internal ones in the same space.
Somehow due to the way it balances out, you never really notice how overburdened his pockets are, but this motherfucker will have the randomest crap in there.
So the other day I was talking about mooncakes and he whipped out an enormous pack of red beans from his inner pocket!! I immediately told him that he he were to die, he'd 100% become the protagonist of an isekai manga in which he's summoned as a hero to a new world, and is immediately tossed aside because his power is deemed useless. He'd have infinite stasis storage. Everything he puts away just stays there.
So we actually started discussing the nitty gritty of that power, as per pockets.
You could steal anything, you'd never be caught, even if there's evidence, since once you stuff the item in your pocket, it's gone. Nobody can access it, since it's stored via magic. We touched on whether we're talking about a magical pocket fixed to a garment (magical item), and then decided the best option is that you can do it to any pocket.
Now imagine : you take a man's wallet out, and immediately put it back. In his pocket. But you can store from *ANY* pocket, including others'.
So we had to define a pocket! Is it made of fabric only? Can it be leather? Does it have to be garment or can you make a tote bag whose entire lining is a zipper pocket? Can you make a paper pocket?
I also decided that the smartest way to monetize this, since the storage area has perfect stasis, would be to become a smuggler.
Cue me, stuffing 5 tons of rare top grade fruits in my pockets, getting flown across the world and paid to deliver the goods straight to the buyer as fresh as when they came off the branch. All for the price of a plane ticket!!
I could walk into a house and clean it out, so long as shit fits in my pocket... I could help friends move interstate or across the world.
I could buy 2 of each every time I buy outside, and put one pipping hot in the storage, then after a year, go on a road trip and eat warm delish meals every day right out of pocket without spending a penny. Of course, camping is easy so long as I can fit it in my pocket. Not hard these days!
My friend though raised the problem of retrieval. What happens when you forget shit is in there? I suggested it'd be best to hold an inventory of everything you're putting in there. But if it's magic, surely you can summon objects, you're not gropping inside a real physical space. So if you forgot how many phones you have, you can think 'phone!' and pull one by one all the phones you got in there.
We haven't discussed the details of putting your own head in your pocket.
