Infinity Train spoilers but

I feel like the Ghom didn’t explode because the number was so high that it “overate”, I think Ghoms on some level just hate existing and hate what they are, so they just “Want” to explode.  Eating someone’s soul is just the only way they know how to truly die and free themselves of their existence. Atticus-Ghom back in season 1 showed signs of regretting/resisting what he/it was doing, so that’s part of why I think they might All hate being Ghoms even when they aren’t attacking people they care about.  I also think it might be why they often seem to be dormant until they sense “prey”, because that way they minimize the inherent suffering of their existence.
