Now now friends, I didn’t get where I am by watching trailers filling me with hopes or inevitably crushed dreams. That's what kind tumblroos with good edit sense and gif sets are for.

And let’s be real, I don’t recall the inners being super active in the comic at this point either, which is always my prime interest (which I didn’t necessarily like in the original let alone a time-compressed version now terrified of modification) and SMC has at least showed itself to handle Sad Small Children just fine, so maybe it’s a matter of not being invested enough to get more worried.

Don't get the complaints the Outers look 'too young' in the new style. People do realize just because the old show waffled on explaining it and Ikuhara had a boner for fake-adult teenagers, Haruka and Michiru weren't actually more than a year older than everyone, right? It was one of those weird exaggerations added the show never ended up explaining, and because they decided to keep the Outers completely separate from the others they never had to get into it.

But they end up going to school alongside the inners around the Dream Arc and it'd look really strange if they weren't designed closer in looks (I’m curious if Haruka’s boy uniform from the Myu is retconned in for the manga’s girly one)

Though Mamoru still looks too old to me but, whatever, fanservice I guess.

note for some people, adding an unknown thing to a plot is sometimes ‘worse’ than removing a known quantity in a proportion they already have seen before. Bad surprises are by their nature, surprises.

OTOH also be very careful in assuming because someone didn’t like an apple, they’ll like the oranges. Or vice versa. They may not like fruit at that much at all. They may only like peeled oranges because they did want to undo the stringy bits, and the apples looked kind of wrinkly. Or they might just make a smoothie and cover up the whole business with a lot of carrot juice, which is what they’re really after.
