@may_philippe had an extremely tough day yesterday. We lost him when our car broke down, then we were able to send help ahead with several sets of dry clothes the change into because of the thunderstorms. Before the help we sent out arrived, a careless driver struck Fifi from the side when she was exiting a parking lot. It could’ve been a lot worse, as there was a lot of traffic and the impact threw him from his bike. We are thankful that his injuries are not worse, but believe he got whiplash as his neck is quite painful now. He is back on the bike and doing very well under the circumstances. Early on in the #raceacrossamerica, the racers ascend to Ranchita California. When they pass the iconic Yeti, they know they are about to start the 12 mile descent of the infamous “glass elevator” into the inferno of Borrego Springs. Not many cyclists enjoy this descent as much as @may_philippe He is faster and stronger than most, thanks to his background in speed skiing and living in the Swiss Alps. Even our follow car has to stay focused to keep up with him.
