A wish granted?

It had been a very hard day. She finally was getting some peace, though. Sitting out on the balcony that came off of her room, a subconscious wish was made. To have a way to protect her son, and herself. Something, or someone, who would keep them both safe from the other people who lived here, at least until she could learn to herself.
A sigh escaped pale lips, as green eyes watched the stars above. A single star had crossed the sky around the time that she’d made her silent wish, although she didn’t think much of it.
The dark haired woman sat up for a little while longer, before finally returning to her room and laying in her bed. It was not long after this, that she drifted off into a restless, nightmarish, dreaming state. Almost like being asleep, but yet..not fully. Beside her, her small son was curled up. Both her arms were locked around him tightly, shielding him from the view of anyone else with her own body.
