Before I Found Out I Was An INFJ
I felt... alone. Like no one can ever understand me... heck, I couldn’t really understand myself. It was weird because, I could understand most people, what they go through, but I always felt no one will understand how I go through things, how my mind thinks, so forth.
I loved my unique self, don’t get me wrong. When I was little, I was proud to stand out from the other kids at school, but I also hated it. Because I thought it made me feel this way, a way why no one in my family can understand how I feel or how I think differently.
I never showed that I felt alone. Because I didn’t want to be a bother. And so many problems came in our family’s life, I didn’t want to become another one. So, I just helped fix problems and pushed my feelings aside, just to focus on my family’s feelings.
One day, my friend and I were hanging out, and she told me about a quiz. This quiz determines your personality. So, I did it, not really understanding what I was getting myself into.
After the test, I saw the words INFJ-T. Then, after reading about it, I felt a relief in my whole life. Because after reading this, I felt like there was a reason, a reason why I was like the way am and that I wasn’t alone. There are others like me. Of course, there was a small number, but there was still a number of them.
So, I asked myself where I’ll be able to find ones who are like me, the community of INFJ who probably felt the way I felt. Then, it hit me. Tumblr. So, I looked on Tumblr and found lots of INFJs. Ones like me. My other friend, she encouraged me to make an INFJ blog, to post things ones will relate to. I thought on it and eventually, @just-an-infj-girl was born.
That was years ago (don’t ask how many because I still don’t know to this day) and now, here we are. I hope you enjoyed my story. What is your INFJ story?
The rare INFJ personality has some unique and somewhat peculiar traits indeed.
Following my 10 Contradictory Things About the Elusive INFJ Male article, I want to further explore some of the INFJ personality’s unique and somewhat peculiar traits and how they affect us in both life and work. Whether these things are true for all INFJs, I’m not sure, but they’re certainly true for me. I’m interested to know if you relate, INFJ, and if so, to hear your story. Leave me a comment below.
I am not strong but I know alot of ways to destroy men emotionally.

MBTI -JUNG - INTERVIEW PART 4 Source : https://youtu.be/pL9DXtWix1g
Hello! :) A few months ago my mom took the mbti test and got INFJ. I wasn't surprised, but I found myself strangely annoyed. At the time, my mom and I were tense with each other. Anyway I have been studying the functions and I keep insisting to myself that my mom isn't an INFJ, but I'm not sure if I'm letting my emotions get the better of me, so here is my question: do you have any tips for identifying an adult INFJ who has depression and PTSD? Sorry if this is too vague. Thank you!
Hi there!
Tests are not always reliable, either because of the quality of the test itself or the way the questions are understood by the taker, among other reasons. The fact that it didn’t surprise you is what makes the result seem more legit.
The positive aspect is that since she already is an adult, her personality is already well based and visible. Mental health characteristics can sometimes blur the MBTI ones, but it is ultimately possible to identify both. The ‘difficult’ aspect of this situation is that it can more challenging to type your own parents.
Spotting and INFJ:
- They prefer to direct their mental energy inwardly. This is not equivalent, although often come hand in hand, to being recharged by alone time or by social interacting [high Ni + low Se].
- Highly intuitive. They are often right. Note that INFJs also tend to get drown in their own preconceptions and assumptions [high Ni + tertiary Ti].
- Likes abstract order (which is not the same as being a super organised person) [dominant Ni]
- Extremely detailed observers. This is especially applicable to the understanding of people’s needs, personalities, tricks and lies, etc [high Fe+Ni].
(This is a little extra note that no-one asked for. You are not your mum, even if you both share the same type. One thing I like about this psychological theory is that it takes human complexity into consideration, rather than trying to make individuals fit into narrow boxes and simplified labels. Your mum is unique and so are you).
If you want us to list more traits don’t hesitate to ask.
