A Descriptive study to assess the knowledge regarding Stem Cells Banking among staff nurses in Veerangana Avanti Bai Mahila Chiktsalaya Hospital at Lucknow, with a view to develop an Information Booklet. Objective The main objective was to assess the existing knowledge regarding stem cells banking among staff nurses in Veerangana Avanti Bai Mahila Chiktsalaya Lucknow. Method A quantitative research approach, and a descriptive research design was used. The sample size of 60 staff nurses were selected by using purposive sampling technique. Initially the investigator got permission from concerned authority of Veerangana Avanti Bai Mahila Chiktsalaya Lucknow. The written consent was obtained from samples. The tool used were, Performa of demographical variables, self structured knowledge questionnaire. Assessment of pre existing level of knowledge done by administering knowledge questionnaire after that on same day information booklet was distributed. Result The result of the study revealed that there was majority 58.33 of sample subjects had inadequate level of knowledge, 41.66 had moderate level of knowledge and none of the sample subjects had adequate knowledge regarding stem cells banking. Conclusion The study concluded that the staff nurses had inadequate knowledge regarding stem cells banking and there is a strong need to improve the knowledge level of staff nurses.
When children’s rights are protected, children stand a much better chance of growing up in a society that allows them to thrive. Children have their own rights to live in the healthy society like to be physically and mentally healthy, to have medical facilities, education without and gender discrimination. Even beyond this legislation children are often maltreated in many forms at homes. Objectives of the study were to assess awareness of mothers regarding child abuse in India and to develop an information booklet. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study. Data was collected from a total of 200 mothers at district hospital, Udhampur, JandK. Coveinient sampling technique was used to collect data. The tool used for data collection was structured knowledge questionnaire to assess knowledge regarding child abuse and its prevention. The data collected was analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Result revealed that highest 53 of the mothers are in the age group of 26 30 years having primary education 34 . Majority 79.5 of the mothers are housewife and 49.5 had 2 children in the family. Most of the mothers 93 are from Hindu religion. Researcher found that majority of the mothers 58.5 had moderately adequate level of knowledge and only 6 of mothers had adequate knowledge regarding child abuse. The overall mean of the knowledge of mothers on child abuse is 17.72 ± 2.847. The researcher concluded that majority of the mothers had moderately adequate knowledge regarding child abuse and its prevention.

The present study has been conducted to know the effectiveness of information booklet on knowledge regarding HIV infection among auto rickshaw drivers at selected areas of Lucknow. The selection of sample was done by convenient sampling. The sample size was 30. The method of data collection was using demographic variables questions and structured knowledge questionnaire regarding HIV AIDS infection among auto rickshaw drivers. Results shows that information booklet was effective in improving the knowledge regarding HIV AIDS and there was no significant association between pretest knowledge score and selected demographic variables.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Primary prevention should be given the highest priority in the fight against the disease. Breast Self Examination BSE is a simple, cost effective non invasive screening method. It is important for early detection of breast lumps. It is a useful self care activity of all adult women over age of 20 to perform it monthly. Our research purpose is to find out the effectiveness of Breast Self Examination in prevention of breast cancer. The objective of the study to assess the effectiveness of information booklet regarding Breast Self Examination. We have used a pre experimental research design method to describe the effectiveness of breast self examination among girls of 10th to 12th class of selected school of Lucknow. After obtaining a written consent from girls a demographic data sheet was given to the girls followed by structured knowledge questionnaire regarding BSE to assess their knowledge. After filling the questionnaire girls were provided with Information Booklet regarding Breast Self examination. Posttest was done on the 7th day. The results shows that majority of the sample are of the age group 15 16 year 70 , studying at 10th standard 55 , belong to Hindus 90 , majority of parents had no formal education 35 , majority of mother are housewife 85 , majority of father had other occupations 80 , most of the parents are single parents 45 , majority of samples got information from other source of information 30 , have no previous knowledge regarding BSE 100 , have not practiced BSE 100 .Information booklet was effective in improving the knowledge regarding breast self examination and there was no significant association between pretest knowledge score and selected demographic variables.

The present study has been conducted to know the effectiveness of on knowledge regarding Sex Education among higher secondary students in selected school of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. In order to achieve the objectives one group pretest posttest research design with quantitative approach was adopted. The selection of the sample was done by convenient sampling technique. The sample size was 30. The method of data collection was using demographic variables questions and structured knowledge questionnaire related to knowledge regarding sex education. Results show that information booklet was effective in improving the knowledge regarding sex education and there was significant relationship between pretest knowledge and half of the demographic variables.
