just watched some vids of the PGRxDMC5 collab and honestly i’m loving Vergil’s positive character development. it’s good to see some confirmation that he heals and recovers properly after the events of DMC5. it’s good to see him as a whole united character who isn’t constantly at war within himself. he’s reading poetry, and he’s excited to see his brother. he’s legitimately happy for the first time in his life.

somewhere in my brain lives the fragments of an essay about the cultural impact of Vergil in and outside the gaming community, how his character has been completely disregarded in favor of the memes portraying him as a paragon of “ideal” masculinity, a massive infodump on Vergil’s actual character and backstory, why he’s actually a paragon of non-toxic masculinity and why he’s been a beacon of hope to many a depressed fan, and why the PGR collab nailed his character development post-DMC 5.
not saying i’m actually gonna write that anytime soon but if i did i would make a powerpoint and everything

i have been thinking about this a lot tonight. and i have one thing to say.
Let Orpheus scream and cry and wail and generally be a pathetic kicked puppy when/after he loses Eurydice for good.
