For the design of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s 1950’s Los Angeles home interior designer Tommy Clements and his mother Kathleen looked to São Paulo, Brazil, for inspiration. François-Xavier Lalanne’s bronze sculpture Grand Singe Avise takes pride of place front and center in the living room, where a Mammoth sofa and armchair by Jean Royère are paired with a small bronze table by Charles Trevelyan and a limited edition cocktail table titled Disque by Ingrid Donat. Above a limited edition Bubble Recamier by Rick Owens, on the left side of the room, hangs Picasso’s La Rêveuse (1947) next to Jean Royére’s Liane (c1950). Over the fireplace hang Brunt IV (1974) by Anne Truitt and Cy Twombly’s Untitled Rome (1959). The exterior of the residence was updated by Mark Rios.
