The Way to Their Hearts - INI – Nishi Hiroto
Way to Their Hearts Master List
@bethanysnow @frenchkisstheabyss @curlybin Here you lovelies go, one plus sized reader x my INI bias.
The day of the final for Produce 101 Japan Season 2 was a day Nishi Hiroto will never forget. Not only was it the day that he was announced as a member of the new group, INI, under Lapone, but it was also the day his Link kicked in. He shared the news with his new bandmates and friends, who were all happy for him, and a few of them had told him about the tracking apps they used, but staff warned him not to publish his stuff under his name, to make sure and use an alias. And he did, he was StarHiro97. Yeah, it was close to his name, but a lot of people just assumed the correct spelling of hero was taken, so he purposely misspelled it. Nishi went straight to an international plan, luckily it had a thirty-day free trial, he was now an idol, but he hadn’t gotten paid yet. Why the international plan? He had done the math; she is in America. You are in America.
“Y/N, you know what I’m going to say.”
You sighed as your doctor looked over her computer screen at you, “Everything is good but the weight.”
“I still don’t get it, how is everything coming back normal, but you still can’t lose the last one-hundred and twenty pounds.” She was back to looking at her monitor. You had been doing good and had gotten down under three hundred pounds, and your doctor had set a goal of one fifty, but you were stuck at two seventy, and neither of you could figure out why. You ate well, and while you would splurge on the occasional treat, you didn’t binge eat an entire tub of ice cream. You love fruits and veggies; you even made your own vinaigrette so keep your salt intake in check. But you had hit a plateau and even changing your schedule hadn’t helped you kick your metabolism in gear again.
“Maybe the stress of the move and new job?”
“It’s possible, or it could be that this is where your weight needs to be. We can’t all fit into the ideal molds and, honestly with you no longer needing the blood pressure meds, I’m good with it. But I’m not the one living in your body, you are. Are you good with it?”
You sat and thought for a second. You could go to the store and get clothes off the rack. No more just looking at the colors and seeing if you liked it before you got online and ordered it. You felt good, better than you had in a long time. You stood and looked in the mirror that was mounted on the back of the door. “You know what, I am. I feel good, I don’t hate my body anymore. I can finally tell the difference between my calf and ankle!” You stood on your toes to emphasize the difference which made your doctor laugh, “So, yeah, I’m good.”
“Any more messages from StarHiro99, Ms. LotstoLove01?”
“Anna! I never should have told you about that.” It didn’t help that your doctor was the daughter of your mom’s best friend, and therefore one of your best friends.
“Ah, but you did, so now I need the tea.”
“Okay, and… give me some details!” Anna’s link had kicked in her first year of college, which was your first year of high school, and as she stood up hauling her eight-month pregnant belly with her, “I have to live vicariously through you for three more months, and I can’t do that if you don’t give me details. You’re my last patient today, so I demand dinner, I’m paying, but only if I get details.”
“Fine, let's go.” Once you had finished checking out and Anna had gone over a few things with her nurses and checked her schedule for the next day, you headed out, “So, what’s my God Son want for dinner?”
“He can’t get enough of the chicken.” Anna ran her hand over her baby bump and did a little pout, “He starts breakdancing on my bladder if I don’t give him what he wants.”
“Fine, but we’re taking your car, you can bring me back when we’re done eating.”
“You’re driving. I hate getting in and out with my belly as big as it is.” You held your hand out and took the keys that were offered, then drove off to get your God Son his Chipotle.
As you were walking in Anna said, “Oh, Y/N! Did you see that post from Felix the other day? He had gotten Chipotle and thought it was bibimbap.”
“Yep! I think he let Minho order for him. Don’t know how else to explain it being that spicy.”
Once you were done ordering you sat down at one of the tables to the side where you could be comfortable, and out of everyone’s way. “Okay girl, StarHiro99, you ever get that pic of him?”
“No, he said he still hasn’t gotten the go ahead from his company to send out the pic.”
“You send him a pic, a recent one?”
“I told him he didn’t get my pic until I got his.”
“He sent like, twenty crying emojis.” Anna almost choked on her food when she started laughing, “Oh, and his name is Hiroto.”
“So, he is Japanese.” Anna said as she finally got her coughing under control.
“Yeah, he also sent me a voice message.”
Before you could answer, Anna’s phone rang. With Ed Sharin’s Perfect playing, you knew it was her husband and soulmate. She answered, “Hey love. No, I’m having dinner with Y/N. Chipotle.” She rolled her eyes, “No, I don’t have any leftovers to bring you. Oh, for the love of God! Fine, I’ll pick it up for you.”
“He has a one-track mind.”
“He’s a guy, they eat, a lot.” Anna put her phone back in her purse, “So, voice message?”
You scrolled to the voice message you had gotten from StarHiro99 and played it for Anna. She started smiling at you as she listened to the message, and you started turning red. “Girl, he is down so bad.”
You finished up and grabbed the to go order Anna’s husband put in, heading out and getting back to your car. You had to meet with a company about your car and another about the furniture you didn’t take to your parents’ house. The week went buy in a blur, between meeting with INI’s manager, making sure your passport was good, that your work visa was in place for your move to Japan, learning eleven guys names and their roles in the group. You had told your soulmate that you wouldn’t be able to reply to him as quickly as you normally did with the move and job change. He was supportive of it, and even asked if you could meet up when you got settled in Japan, you hoped you lived close to each other. Japan wasn’t as big as the US, but it wasn’t little either. The day finally came that you had to head to California, you sent a quick note to your soulmate, letting him know you’re traveling and that you would contact him when you could. You had a similar message from him, and you smiled. You had the Link connecting you, but you still acted like a normal couple letting each other know what you were up to. Things were starting to look up.
****** Six Weeks Later ******
“Oh lord,” you rolled your eyes as you finished setting up the lunch for the guys. Turning around you came face to face with Jin, the youngest of the group, followed by Hiroto who was dragging Shogo with him, “What is it now MJ?”
“Shogo is doing it again.”
“How is S/M/N?” This earned a pout from MJ, instead of scolding Shogo for having his face buried in his phone, you were asking about his soulmate.
“Good, she is so close to being discharged! And look,” Shogo turned his phone around to show his soulmate in her Class A uniform, “she got a commendation for busting up that drug ring!”
“Oh wow! She going to make it to a show?”
“No, she won’t have a long enough leave before we get back home, and we’re not doing a show in Hawaii.”
You could tell he was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to come to a show, “How much longer until she is discharged?”
“You’re doing it again.” MJ smiled at the oldest of the group. Hiroto had confided in him that it was possible you were LotstoLove00, his soulmate, when MJ caught him looking at you with literal heart eyes.
“Shut up.” Hiroto looked away from you, with quite a bit of difficulty, “I never should have told you.”
“Told him what?” Masaya had come in and came in on what appeared to be some interesting information.
“Nothing.” As Hiroto turned a lovely shade of pink, Masaya knew it was something. “Just some stuff about a game.”
Masaya looked over at MJ who was trying not to laugh, then followed Hiroto’s gaze over to you. He looked back at MJ silently asking if he was seeing what he thought he was seeing, and when MJ nodded yes, Masaya smiled, “So, how is your soulmate these days?”
“Good, she updated her log last night.”
“Oh, what was on the menu?”
At that Nishi looked up to find both MJ and Masaya smiling, no, smirking at him. “Did you?”
“I figured it out.” Masaya cut Nishi off, before he could scold MJ for just confirming his suspicions, “You going to tell her?”
“I heard the staff talking the other day, and so did she. They were glad that they had hired someone, and I quote, fat and ugly so they didn’t have to worry about a dating scandal.” Hiroto made a fist with one hand a few times, “She tried to play it off, but I could tell it got to her.”
“Who would say that?! And about Y/N! I would be honored to find a soulmate who is amazing as she is!” MJ didn’t mean to, but he got the attention of everyone in the room. “How dare they say that about one of our soulmates!”
As soon as the last syllable left MJ’s mouth, your grip on the drink you were fixing slipped and it hit the floor in front of you. You didn’t move to clean it up, no one did. You and Shogo were staring at MJ, Hiroto, and Masaya, and they were staring back at you.
Shogo was the first to recover, “Is Y/N one of your soulmates?”
You could not believe what you were hearing. It couldn’t be true. You couldn’t feel it, but your fingers started to shake. StarHiro99, no, it couldn’t be Hiroto. Nishi Hiroto, the oldest of the group and the one who you had started picturing when you thought of your soulmate. The one who had stared in a few dreams lately, some of them VERY wet dreams.
Hiroto noticed the twitch in your fingers, then the slight shake in your hand, “Y/N, sit down.” He moved around the rest of the guys in the room and over to you, pulling out a chair and putting it behind you, “Y/N, please, sit down, you’re shaking.”
Slowly you let Hiroto guide you down to the chair, “But, but I-I can’t be.” Now your voice was starting to shake, and while MJ and Shogo cleaned up the spilled drink, Masaya closed the doors to the room you all were in. “I, I’ll be in trouble. Th-they hired me, hired me, oh my god, my visa.”
“Y/N, shhh, please, you’re getting yourself worked up.” He took your hands in his and got you to look at him instead of past him, “Breathe with me, come on, no sweetheart, look at me.” Once you started to breathe with him, and calm down he smiled, “That’s it, you’re not going anywhere, okay?”
Hiroto put a finger on your lips silencing you, “No, no buts.”
“Hiroto. Please, you’re my soulmate Y/N, call me Hiroto.”
Dear god, he immediately started going over the Japanese dynasties, in his head, it was that or his pants would be unbearably tight, “See, that wasn’t so bad.”
“No, it’s actually kind of nice.” You giggled a little and couldn’t help the smile that lit up the room.
“Okay, I hate to break this up but,” Masaya folded his arms, “exactly who did you hear talking the other day?”
As the American tour ended you and the guys headed back to Japan, Aram and Dispatch had a field day when pictures circulated of you and Nishi holding hands leaving the airport started to circulate. The company was quick to respond.
‘It is our honor to announce that Nishi Hiroto has located his soulmate, L/N Y/N, the translator and assistant for INI. We wish them all the happiness and a long life together.’
Time went on, and as the guys all started to find their soulmates, talk of Nishi's plus sized soulmate died down, and you became just his soulmate or the groups assistant. It was finally a day off, and the two of you were getting ready to go out with Shogo and his now fiancé. A cool front had come through and put a chill in the air and prompting the two of you to grab your hoodies. They were both laid out on the back of the sofa, where you had put them. “Y/N, come on, Shogo and S/M/N are waiting.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m coming.”
As you came out of the bedroom, Hiroto pulled you into his arms and kissed along your jaw to your ear, where he whispered, “I like it better when you’re screaming that.”
You smiled and lightly pushed him off you, “Stop it, we’re going to be late.”
“So.” He tried to go back in for another kiss, but you moved away from him, “Fine. Here’s your hoodie.” He picked up one and handed it to you.
You took it and were about to put it on when you noticed it was a little too small for you. “Hiroto, you gave me the wrong one.”
“Maybe,” he smiled as you busted out laughing when you looked at him wearing your hoodie. It was so big on him! It came down to his mid-thigh and he had even gathered up the sleeves around his hands making hoodie paws. “Is this why the others are always losing their hoodies to their soulmates?”
“Probably, now trade me.”
Hiroto pulled your hoodie off and it pulled at his t-shirt exposing his abs. He saw you biting your lip as he pulled his arms out. “Sweetheart, you don’t look so good.”
“What?” You let go of your lip as you lost sight of his abs.
“Yeah, you look feverish.” With your hoodie in one hand, he put the other on your forehead, “Yep, you’re hot. We can’t go out.”
“Because I’m hot?” You raised an eyebrow at him, having a good idea of what he was actually saying.
“Yep, gotta get you back in bed,” he backed you up towards your shared room, “might have to keep you there all day.”
